亚伯兰在那地穿行，直到示剑地区，到摩利的橡树那里。当时迦南人就在那地。

雅各从巴旦-亚兰回来的时候，平安地来到迦南地的示剑城，在城的对面支搭帐篷。他用一百块银子，从示剑的父亲哈抹的儿子们手中买下了这块支搭帐篷的地。

于是他们把自己手中所有的外邦神像和自己耳朵上的环子都交给雅各；雅各把它们埋藏在示剑附近的橡树底下。
