“ The Lord has driven out before you great and powerful nations; to this day no one has been able to withstand you.

For the Lord has driven out before you great and strong nations. And as for you, no man has been able to stand before you to this day.

耶和华就会为你们赶走那些比你们强大的民族，你们也必占领他们的土地。

在你有生之年，没有人能够抵挡你。过去我怎样与摩西同在，也必照样与你同在，我必不离开你，也不丢弃你。

我会逐渐地赶走他们，直到你们人丁兴旺，可以占据那片土地。

你们的上帝耶和华必把列邦从你们面前赶出去，使他们离开你们。这样，你们就可以承受他们的土地，正如你们的上帝耶和华的应许。

祂要将他们的王交在你们手中，无人能抵挡你们，你们要毁灭他们，使他们的名字从世上绝迹。

迦勒赶走了住在那里的亚衲族的三个族长，即示筛、亚希幔和挞买，

这样，耶和华把从前起誓赐给以色列人祖先的整个地区都赐给了以色列人，以色列人都分到土地，住了下来。耶和华照着给他们祖先的应许，使他们四境安宁，没有仇敌能抵挡他们。耶和华将所有仇敌都交在了他们手中。

你要常常诵读这律法书，昼夜不断地思想，以便谨遵律法书上的一切指示。这样，你必亨通、顺利。我再次吩咐你，要刚强勇敢！不要害怕，也不要灰心，因为你无论走到哪里，你的上帝耶和华必与你同在。”
