爾若轉而合於爾中遺民、與之嫁娶往來、

如爾反是、恆從爾中遺民、與之嫁娶往來、

如爾違背、而與爾中所遺之民聯絡、與之嫁娶往來、往來或作相雜

“ But if you turn away and ally yourselves with the survivors of these nations that remain among you and if you intermarry with them and associate with them,

“ But suppose you turn away from him. You mix with the people who are left alive in the nations that remain among you. Later, you and they get married to each other. And you do other kinds of things with them.

For if you turn back and cling to the remnant of these nations remaining among you and make marriages with them, so that you associate with them and they with you,

“ But if you turn away from him and cling to the customs of the survivors of these nations remaining among you, and if you intermarry with them,

If you ever turn away and become loyal to the rest of these nations remaining among you, and if you intermarry or associate with them and they with you,

For if you ever go back and cling to the rest of these nations, these which remain with you, and intermarry with them, so that you associate with them and they with you,

Or else, if indeed you do go back, and cling to the remnant of these nations— these that remain among you— and make marriages with them, and go in to them and they to you,

Else if ye do at all go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations, even these that remain among you, and make marriages with them, and go in unto them, and they to you;

For if you turn away and cling to the rest of these nations remaining among you, and if you intermarry or associate with them and they with you,

Else if ye do in any wise go back, and cleave unto the remnant of these nations,[ even] these that remain among you, and shall make marriages with them, and go in unto them, and they to you:

But if you ever turn away and make alliances with these nations that remain near you, and intermarry with them and establish friendly relations with them,

“ But if you do at all go back, and hold fast to the remnant of these nations, even these who remain among you, and make marriages with them, and go in to them, and they to you;

Do not intermarry with them. Do not give your daughters to their sons or take their daughters for your sons, (niv)

those who turn back from following the Lord and neither seek the Lord nor inquire of him.” (niv)

Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there. And the final condition of that person is worse than the first. That is how it will be with this wicked generation.” (niv)

you gave through your servants the prophets when you said:‘ The land you are entering to possess is a land polluted by the corruption of its peoples. By their detestable practices they have filled it with their impurity from one end to the other.Therefore, do not give your daughters in marriage to their sons or take their daughters for your sons. Do not seek a treaty of friendship with them at any time, that you may be strong and eat the good things of the land and leave it to your children as an everlasting inheritance.’ (niv)

Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness?What harmony is there between Christ and Belial? Or what does a believer have in common with an unbeliever?What agreement is there between the temple of God and idols? For we are the temple of the living God. As God has said:“ I will live with them and walk among them, and I will be their God, and they will be my people.”Therefore,“ Come out from them and be separate, says the Lord. Touch no unclean thing, and I will receive you.” (niv)

Moreover, in those days I saw men of Judah who had married women from Ashdod, Ammon and Moab.Half of their children spoke the language of Ashdod or the language of one of the other peoples, and did not know how to speak the language of Judah.I rebuked them and called curses down on them. I beat some of the men and pulled out their hair. I made them take an oath in God’s name and said:“ You are not to give your daughters in marriage to their sons, nor are you to take their daughters in marriage for your sons or for yourselves.Was it not because of marriages like these that Solomon king of Israel sinned? Among the many nations there was no king like him. He was loved by his God, and God made him king over all Israel, but even he was led into sin by foreign women. (niv)

Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. (niv)

But those who turn to crooked ways the Lord will banish with the evildoers. Peace be on Israel. (niv)

For they mouth empty, boastful words and, by appealing to the lustful desires of the flesh, they entice people who are just escaping from those who live in error.They promise them freedom, while they themselves are slaves of depravity— for“ people are slaves to whatever has mastered them.”If they have escaped the corruption of the world by knowing our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and are again entangled in it and are overcome, they are worse off at the end than they were at the beginning.It would have been better for them not to have known the way of righteousness, than to have known it and then to turn their backs on the sacred command that was passed on to them.Of them the proverbs are true:“ A dog returns to its vomit,” and,“ A sow that is washed returns to her wallowing in the mud.” (niv)

As Solomon grew old, his wives turned his heart after other gods, and his heart was not fully devoted to the Lord his God, as the heart of David his father had been. (niv)

His heart was drawn to Dinah daughter of Jacob; he loved the young woman and spoke tenderly to her. (niv)

After these things had been done, the leaders came to me and said,“ The people of Israel, including the priests and the Levites, have not kept themselves separate from the neighboring peoples with their detestable practices, like those of the Canaanites, Hittites, Perizzites, Jebusites, Ammonites, Moabites, Egyptians and Amorites.They have taken some of their daughters as wives for themselves and their sons, and have mingled the holy race with the peoples around them. And the leaders and officials have led the way in this unfaithfulness.” (niv)

Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land where you are going, or they will be a snare among you.Break down their altars, smash their sacred stones and cut down their Asherah poles.Do not worship any other god, for the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.“ Be careful not to make a treaty with those who live in the land; for when they prostitute themselves to their gods and sacrifice to them, they will invite you and you will eat their sacrifices.And when you choose some of their daughters as wives for your sons and those daughters prostitute themselves to their gods, they will lead your sons to do the same. (niv)

The words of their mouths are wicked and deceitful; they fail to act wisely or do good. (niv)

They were from nations about which the Lord had told the Israelites,“ You must not intermarry with them, because they will surely turn your hearts after their gods.” Nevertheless, Solomon held fast to them in love. (niv)

Woe to the sinful nation, a people whose guilt is great, a brood of evildoers, children given to corruption! They have forsaken the Lord; they have spurned the Holy One of Israel and turned their backs on him. (niv)

They did not destroy the peoples as the Lord had commanded them,but they mingled with the nations and adopted their customs. (niv)

“ But if a righteous person turns from their righteousness and commits sin and does the same detestable things the wicked person does, will they live? None of the righteous things that person has done will be remembered. Because of the unfaithfulness they are guilty of and because of the sins they have committed, they will die. (niv)

From this time many of his disciples turned back and no longer followed him. (niv)

And,“ But my righteous one will live by faith. And I take no pleasure in the one who shrinks back.”But we do not belong to those who shrink back and are destroyed, but to those who have faith and are saved. (niv)

Anyone who claims to be in the light but hates a brother or sister is still in the darkness. (niv)

After David had finished talking with Saul, Jonathan became one in spirit with David, and he loved him as himself.From that day Saul kept David with him and did not let him return home to his family.And Jonathan made a covenant with David because he loved him as himself. (niv)

That is why a man leaves his father and mother and is united to his wife, and they become one flesh. (niv)
