耶稣对他说：“‘你要以全心、全灵、全意爱主——你的神’，

我们也知道，神使万事相辅相成，是为了爱神之人的益处，就是那些按照他的心意蒙召之人的益处。

耶稣对他说：“撒旦，退去！因为经上记着：‘要敬拜主——你的神，唯独事奉他。’”

忍受试炼的人是蒙福的；因为他经过考验以后，就要得到生命的冠冕，就是主应许给那些爱他之人的。

是的，也正是为此，你们应当尽量地殷勤，在信仰上加美德；在美德上加知识；在知识上加自制；在自制上加忍耐；在忍耐上加敬神；在敬神上加弟兄之情；在弟兄之情上加爱；因为你们如果有了这些，并且不断增多这些，它们就会使你们在真正认识我们主耶稣基督的事上，不会成为懒惰的或不结果子的人；就是说，没有具备这些的就是瞎眼的，他只看得见眼前的，忘记自己过去的罪孽已经得了洁净。所以弟兄们，你们当更加努力地确定你们所蒙的召唤和拣选。要知道，如果你们如此行，就绝不会跌倒；

一个人如果要服事我，就当跟从我；我在哪里，我的仆人也将要在哪里。如果有人服事我，父将尊重他。

巴拿巴到了，看见神的恩典就感到欢喜，鼓励大家要立定心志，继续靠主，

我亲爱的弟兄们，请听！神难道不是拣选了世上的那些贫穷人，使他们在信仰上富有，并且做他国度的继承人吗？这国度是他应许给爱他之人的。

你用你的训诫吩咐了我们，为要我们竭力遵守。但愿我的道路被你坚立，好使我遵守你的律例。这样，我注目你一切诫命时，就不致蒙羞；

你们为什么把钱花在非食物的东西上呢？为什么把自己的辛苦所得花在不能使人饱足的东西上呢？你们要留心听我的话，要吃美物，让自己的心灵得享肥甘！

“一个人不能服事两个主人。他不是厌恶这个、喜爱那个，就是忠于这个、轻视那个。你们不能既服事神，又服事财富。

“你们如果爱我，就会遵守我的命令。

你们要谨慎，免得有人亏缺了神的恩典；免得有苦毒的根长起来搅扰你们，使许多人因此被污秽了；

撒母耳对民众说：“不要害怕。你们虽然做了这一切恶事，但不要偏离耶和华不跟随他，而要以全心服事耶和华；

只是你们要敬畏耶和华，诚实全心地服事他——你们看，他为你们做了何等大的事！

要知道，我所归属、所事奉的神，他的一位天使昨天晚上站在我身边，

撒母耳就对以色列全家宣告说：“你们如果全心回转归向耶和华，就要把外邦的神明和亚斯她录从你们中间除掉，立定心志归向耶和华，唯独服事他。这样他就会解救你们脱离非利士人的手。”

使我们从敌人的手中被救出，

我们渴望你们每个人都显出同样的殷勤，使你们对所盼望的有完全的确信，一直到底；这样，你们就不会变得懈怠，反而会效法那些藉着信仰和耐心去继承各样应许的人。

事实上，神——就是我在他儿子的福音工作上用心灵所事奉的那一位，可以为我见证：我怎样不住地提到你们，

爱，不要虚假；要厌弃恶、持守善；

大家吃完早饭后，耶稣就问西门彼得：“约翰的儿子西门，你爱我胜过这些吗？”彼得说：“是的，主啊！你知道我喜爱你。”耶稣对他说：“喂养我的小羊。”耶稣第二次又问他：“约翰的儿子西门，你爱我吗？”彼得回答说：“是的，主啊！你知道我喜爱你。”耶稣对他说：“牧养我的羊。”耶稣第三次问他：“约翰的儿子西门，你喜爱我吗？”彼得感到忧伤，因为耶稣第三次是对他说：“你喜爱我吗？”彼得说：“主啊，你知道一切，你知道我喜爱你。”耶稣对他说：“喂养我的羊。

当谨守你的心，胜过保守一切，因为生命的泉源由心而出。

那领受我命令并遵守的人，就是爱我的。爱我的会蒙我父所爱，我也会爱他，并且会向他显明我自己。”不是加略人的那个犹大问耶稣：“主啊，怎么会这样呢？你为什么要向我们显明自己，而不向世人显明呢？”耶稣回答说：“如果有人爱我，他就会遵守我的话语，我父也会爱他，而且我们将要来到他那里，并且在他那里安置我们的住处。

那些持守公正、时时行公义的人，是蒙福的！
