Therefore said we, It shall be, when they so say to us or to our generations in time to come, that we shall say, Behold the pattern of the altar of Jehovah, which our fathers made, not for burnt- offering, nor for sacrifice; but it is a witness between us and you.

所以我们说：‘日后你们对我们，或对我们的后人这样说，我们就可以回答说，你们看我们列祖所筑的坛是耶和华坛的样式；这并不是为献燔祭，也不是为献别的祭，乃是为作你我中间的证据。’

所以我们说：‘将来他们若对我们，或对我们的子孙这样说，我们就可以回答说：你们看，我们列祖所筑的坛是耶和华坛的样式，这并不是为献燔祭，也不是为献别样的祭，而是作为你们和我们之间的证据。’

所以我们说：‘将来他们若对我们，或对我们的子孙这样说，我们就可以回答说：你们看，我们列祖所筑的坛是耶和华坛的样式，这并不是为献燔祭，也不是为献别样的祭，而是作为你们和我们之间的证据。’

万一你们对我们或我们的子孙这样说，我们可以回答说，‘你们看我们祖先筑的这座祭坛跟耶和华的祭坛一模一样，只是这座坛不是用来献燔祭或别的祭，而是作为你们和我们之间的证据！’

因此我们说：‘将来有人对我们，或是对我们的后代这样说，我们就可以回答：你们看我们列祖所筑的坛，是耶和华的祭坛的模式，这并不是用来献燔祭，也不是用来献别的祭，而是在我们和你们中间作证据。’

所以我們說：『日後你們對我們，或對我們的後人這樣說，我們就可以回答說，你們看我們列祖所築的壇是耶和華壇的樣式；這並不是為獻燔祭，也不是為獻別的祭，乃是為作你我中間的證據。』

所以我們說：『將來他們若對我們，或對我們的子孫這樣說，我們就可以回答說：你們看，我們列祖所築的壇是耶和華壇的樣式，這並不是為獻燔祭，也不是為獻別樣的祭，而是作為你們和我們之間的證據。』

萬一你們對我們或我們的子孫這樣說，我們可以回答說，『你們看我們祖先築的這座祭壇跟耶和華的祭壇一模一樣，只是這座壇不是用來獻燔祭或別的祭，而是作為你們和我們之間的證據！』

因此我們說：‘將來有人對我們，或是對我們的後代這樣說，我們就可以回答：你們看我們列祖所築的壇，是耶和華的祭壇的模式，這並不是用來獻燔祭，也不是用來獻別的祭，而是在我們和你們中間作證據。’

因此我們說：日後他們若對我們或我們的後代這樣說，我們就可以說：「你們看我們先祖所造的永恆主祭壇的模型，這並不是為了獻燔祭，也不是為了獻別的祭，乃是為了在我們與你們之間做證據啊。」

故曰、日後有人以此問我、或我後裔、則可答曰、試觀我祖所築耶和華壇之式、非為獻燔祭及他祭、惟在爾我間為證而已、

故我曰、嗣後如有人以此言委我、或我子孫、則我可語、試視我祖所作耶和華壇之式、非為燔祭祀品、乃在爾我間為證。

故我儕曰、日後若爾子孫向我子孫如此言、則我子孫可答曰、試觀我祖所建之祭臺、其式似主之祭臺、非為獻火焚祭與別類之祭、乃為在爾我間為證、

“ And we said,‘ If they ever say this to us, or to our descendants, we will answer: Look at the replica of the Lord’s altar, which our ancestors built, not for burnt offerings and sacrifices, but as a witness between us and you.’

“ So we said to ourselves,‘ Suppose they say that to us sometime. Or suppose they say it to our children after us. Then we’ll answer,“ Look at this altar. It’s exactly like the Lord’ s altar. Our people built it. They didn’t build it to offer burnt offerings and sacrifices on it. Instead, they built it to be a witness between us and you.” ’

And we thought,‘ If this should be said to us or to our descendants in time to come, we should say,“ Behold, the copy of the altar of the Lord, which our fathers made, not for burnt offerings, nor for sacrifice, but to be a witness between us and you.”’

“ If they say this, our descendants can reply,‘ Look at this copy of the Lord’s altar that our ancestors made. It is not for burnt offerings or sacrifices; it is a reminder of the relationship both of us have with the Lord.’

We thought that if they said this to us or to our generations in the future, we would reply: Look at the replica of the LORD’s altar that our ancestors made, not for burnt offering or sacrifice, but as a witness between us and you.

Therefore we said,‘ It shall also come about if they say this to us or to our generations in time to come, then we shall say,“ See the copy of the altar of the Lord which our fathers made, not for burnt offering or for sacrifice; rather, it is a witness between us and you.” ’

Therefore we said that it will be, when they say this to us or to our generations in time to come, that we may say,‘ Here is the replica of the altar of the Lord which our fathers made, though not for burnt offerings nor for sacrifices; but it is a witness between you and us.’

We thought that if they said this to us or to our generations in the future, we would reply: Look at the replica of the Lord’s altar that our fathers made, not for burnt offering or sacrifice, but as a witness between us and you.

Therefore said we, that it shall be, when they should[ so] say to us or to our generations in time to come, that we may say[ again], Behold the pattern of the altar of the LORD, which our fathers made, not for burnt offerings, nor for sacrifices; but it[ is] a witness between us and you.

We said,‘ If in the future they say such a thing to us or to our descendants, we will reply,“ See the model of the LORD’s altar that our ancestors made, not for burnt offerings or sacrifices, but as a reminder to us and you.”’

“ Therefore we said,‘ It shall be, when they tell us or our generations this in time to come, that we shall say,“ Behold the pattern of Yahweh’s altar, which our fathers made, not for burnt offering, nor for sacrifice; but it is a witness between us and you.”’

And king Ahaz went to Damascus to meet Tiglath- pileser king of Assyria, and saw the altar that was at Damascus; and king Ahaz sent to Urijah the priest the fashion of the altar, and the pattern of it, according to all the workmanship thereof.

who serve that which is a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, even as Moses is warned of God when he is about to make the tabernacle: for, See, saith he, that thou make all things according to the pattern that was showed thee in the mount.

And see that thou make them after their pattern, which hath been showed thee in the mount.

Thou, son of man, show the house to the house of Israel, that they may be ashamed of their iniquities; and let them measure the pattern.And if they be ashamed of all that they have done, make known unto them the form of the house, and the fashion thereof, and the egresses thereof, and the entrances thereof, and all the forms thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and all the forms thereof, and all the laws thereof; and write it in their sight; that they may keep the whole form thereof, and all the ordinances thereof, and do them.
