but to be a witness between us and you, and between our generations after us, that we do perform the service of the Lord in his presence with our burnt offerings and sacrifices and peace offerings, so your children will not say to our children in time to come,“ You have no portion in the Lord.”’

乃是为你我中间和你我后人中间作证据，好叫我们也在耶和华面前献燔祭、平安祭，和别的祭侍奉他，免得你们的子孙日后对我们的子孙说，你们与耶和华无份了。’

而是为你我之间和后代子孙之间作证据，好使我们也在耶和华面前献我们的燔祭、平安祭和别样的祭来事奉他，免得你们的子孙将来对我们的子孙说，你们在耶和华里无份。’

但在爾我間、及爾後代我後代間為證、使我役事耶和華、獻燔祭禮物、酬恩之祭於其前、則爾子孫不得謂我子孫云、汝與耶和華無與。

但在爾我間、及爾子孫與我子孫間為證、我亦在主前獻火焚祭平安祭與別類之祭、事奉主、免日後爾子孫謂我子孫云、爾在主前無分、

On the contrary, it is to be a witness between us and you and the generations that follow, that we will worship the Lord at his sanctuary with our burnt offerings, sacrifices and fellowship offerings. Then in the future your descendants will not be able to say to ours,‘ You have no share in the Lord.’

So just the opposite is true. The altar will be a witness between us and you. It will be a witness between our children and yours after us. It will also be a witness that we will worship the Lord at his sacred tent. We’ll worship him there with our burnt offerings, sacrifices and friendship offerings. Then in days to come your children won’t be able to say to ours,‘ You don’t have anything to do with the Lord.’

but as a memorial. It will remind our descendants and your descendants that we, too, have the right to worship the Lord at his sanctuary with our burnt offerings, sacrifices, and peace offerings. Then your descendants will not be able to say to ours,‘ You have no claim to the Lord.’

Instead, it is to be a witness between us and you, and between the generations after us, so that we may carry out the worship of the LORD in his presence with our burnt offerings, sacrifices, and fellowship offerings. Then in the future, your descendants will not be able to say to our descendants,‘ You have no share in the LORD!’

rather, it shall be a witness between us and you and between our generations after us, that we are to perform the service of the Lord before Him with our burnt offerings, our sacrifices, and with our peace offerings, so that your sons will not say to our sons in time to come,“ You have no portion in the Lord.” ’

but that it may be a witness between you and us and our generations after us, that we may perform the service of the Lord before Him with our burnt offerings, with our sacrifices, and with our peace offerings; that your descendants may not say to our descendants in time to come,“ You have no part in the Lord.”’

but it shall be a witness between us and you, and between our generations after us, that we may do the service of Jehovah before him with our burnt- offerings, and with our sacrifices, and with our peace- offerings; that your children may not say to our children in time to come, Ye have no portion in Jehovah.

Instead, it is to be a witness between us and you, and between the generations after us, so that we may carry out the worship of the Lord in His presence with our burnt offerings, sacrifices, and fellowship offerings. Then in the future, your descendants will not be able to say to our descendants,‘ You have no share in the Lord!’

But[ that] it[ may be] a witness between us, and you, and our generations after us, that we might do the service of the LORD before him with our burnt offerings, and with our sacrifices, and with our peace offerings; that your children may not say to our children in time to come, Ye have no part in the LORD.

but as a reminder to us and you, and to our descendants who follow us, that we will honor the LORD in his very presence with burnt offerings, sacrifices, and tokens of peace. Then in the future your descendants will not be able to say to our descendants,‘ You have no right to worship the LORD.’

but it will be a witness between us and you, and between our generations after us, that we may perform the service of Yahweh before him with our burnt offerings, with our sacrifices, and with our peace offerings;’ that your children may not tell our children in time to come,‘ You have no portion in Yahweh.’

And Joshua said to all the people,“ Behold, this stone shall be a witness against us, for it has heard all the words of the Lord that he spoke to us. Therefore it shall be a witness against you, lest you deal falsely with your God.”

Laban said,“ This heap is a witness between you and me today.” Therefore he named it Galeed,

You may not eat within your towns the tithe of your grain or of your wine or of your oil, or the firstborn of your herd or of your flock, or any of your vow offerings that you vow, or your freewill offerings or the contribution that you present,but you shall eat them before the Lord your God in the place that the Lord your God will choose, you and your son and your daughter, your male servant and your female servant, and the Levite who is within your towns. And you shall rejoice before the Lord your God in all that you undertake.

then to the place that the Lord your God will choose, to make his name dwell there, there you shall bring all that I command you: your burnt offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes and the contribution that you present, and all your finest vow offerings that you vow to the Lord.

The people of Reuben and the people of Gad called the altar Witness,“ For,” they said,“ it is a witness between us that the Lord is God.”

But you shall seek the place that the Lord your God will choose out of all your tribes to put his name and make his habitation there. There you shall go,and there you shall bring your burnt offerings and your sacrifices, your tithes and the contribution that you present, your vow offerings, your freewill offerings, and the firstborn of your herd and of your flock.

And when they came to the region of the Jordan that is in the land of Canaan, the people of Reuben and the people of Gad and the half-tribe of Manasseh built there an altar by the Jordan, an altar of imposing size.

Then Samuel took a stone and set it up between Mizpah and Shen and called its name Ebenezer; for he said,“ Till now the Lord has helped us.”

But the holy things that are due from you, and your vow offerings, you shall take, and you shall go to the place that the Lord will choose,and offer your burnt offerings, the flesh and the blood, on the altar of the Lord your God. The blood of your sacrifices shall be poured out on the altar of the Lord your God, but the flesh you may eat.

This heap is a witness, and the pillar is a witness, that I will not pass over this heap to you, and you will not pass over this heap and this pillar to me, to do harm.
