爾流便人、迦得人歟、耶和華既定約但為爾我之界、爾與耶和華無與、如是、爾裔必使我裔不寅畏耶和華、

耶和華置約但為界於爾我間、爾曹流便伽得二支派、與耶和華無與、如是爾後嗣、將使我後嗣不畏耶和華。

爾流便人、迦得人、主已定約但在爾我之間為界、爾於主前無分、如是爾子孫將使我子孫不敬畏主、

The Lord has made the Jordan a boundary between us and you— you Reubenites and Gadites! You have no share in the Lord.’ So your descendants might cause ours to stop fearing the Lord.

現在求我主我王聽僕人的話：若是耶和華激發你來攻擊我，願耶和華悅納供物；若是出於人，願他們在耶和華面前受詛咒，因為他們今日趕逐我，不讓我在耶和華的產業中有分，說：『你去事奉別神吧！』

這百姓若上耶路撒冷去，在耶和華的殿裏獻祭，他們的心必歸向他們的主猶大王羅波安。他們會殺了我，仍歸猶大王羅波安。」耶羅波安王就籌劃，鑄造了兩個金牛犢，對眾百姓說：「你們上耶路撒冷去實在夠久了。以色列啊，看哪，這是領你出埃及地的神明。」他把一個安置在伯特利，另一個安置在但。這事使百姓陷入罪裏，因為他們甚至到但去拜那牛犢。

你在這道上無份無關；因為你在上帝面前心懷不正。

以色列眾人見王不依從他們，百姓就回話給王，說：「我們在大衛中有甚麼份呢？我們在耶西的兒子中沒有產業！以色列啊，回你的帳棚去吧！大衛啊，現在你顧自己的家吧！」於是，以色列人都回自己的帳棚去了；

我回答他們的話，對他們說：「天上的上帝必使我們亨通。我們作他僕人的，要起來建造；你們卻在耶路撒冷無份、無權、無名號。」

而是為你我之間和後代子孫之間作證據，好使我們也在耶和華面前獻我們的燔祭、平安祭和別樣的祭來事奉他，免得你們的子孫將來對我們的子孫說，你們在耶和華裏無份。』

就去見所羅巴伯和族長，對他們說：「請讓我們與你們一同建造，因為我們也與你們一樣尋求你們的上帝。自從亞述王以撒‧哈頓帶我們上這地的日子以來，我們常向上帝獻祭。」但所羅巴伯、耶書亞和其餘以色列的族長對他們說：「我們建造上帝的殿與你們無關，因為我們要照波斯王居魯士所吩咐的，自己為耶和華－以色列的上帝協力建造。」

在那裏恰巧有一個無賴，名叫示巴，是便雅憫人比基利的兒子。他吹角，說：「我們與大衛無份，與耶西的兒子無關。以色列啊，各回自己的帳棚去吧！」

這是因為耶羅波安所犯的罪，他使以色列陷入罪裏，激怒了耶和華－以色列的上帝。
