又謂諸兄弟曰、爾可聚石、眾乃取石、積累為垤、共食於垤上、拉班名之曰伊迦珥撒哈杜他、伊迦珥撒哈杜他乃亞蘭言譯即以石垤為證之義雅各名之曰迦累得、迦累得乃希伯來言譯即以石垤為證之義拉班曰、今日之石垤、可於爾我間為證、故名曰迦累得、又名曰米斯巴、米斯巴譯即鑒察之義蓋言我儕睽違時、主必鑒察於爾我間、爾若負我女、在我女之外、別有所娶、雖無人見爾我所為、而天主鑒之、或作雖無人為爾我間之證有天主為爾我間之證拉班又謂雅各曰、可觀爾我間所積之垤、所立之柱、此垤為證、此柱為證、我不越此垤害爾、爾不越此垤此柱害我、

謂之曰、當下約但、至主爾天主之匱前、各取一石、循以色列十二支派之數、負之於肩、此石可於爾中為證、日後倘爾子孫問爾曰、此石何意、則曰、昔主之約匱過約但、河水在約匱前絕流、此石在以色列人中、永為證誌以色列人遵約書亞所命而行、於約但河中取石十二、循以色列支派之數、如主命約書亞者、負石至宿處、置之於彼、約書亞又以石十二、立於約但河中、舁約匱祭司足立之所、其石在彼、至今猶存、
