Now these are the names of the sons of Levi, according to their records: Gershon, Kohath, and Merari.( The length of Levi’s life was 137 years.)The sons of Gershon, by their families, were Libni and Shimei.

From Gershon came the family of the Libnites and the family of the Shimeites; these were the families of the Gershonites.Those of them who were numbered, counting every male from a month old and upward, were 7,500.
