“你要吩咐以色列人，叫他們從所得為業的地中，把一些城給利未人居住，也把這些城周圍的郊區給利未人。這些城要歸他們居住，城的郊區可以牧放他們的牛羊和一切牲畜，也可以存放他們的財物。“你們給利未人的城郊，要從城牆起，周圍向外量四百五十公尺。你們又要從城外，向東面量九百公尺，向南面量九百公尺，向西面量九百公尺，向北面量九百公尺，城在中間；這要歸給他們作城外的郊區。你們分給利未人的城，其中要有六座避難城，讓誤殺人的可以逃到那裡去，此外還要給他們四十二座城。這樣，你們所要給利未人的城，共為四十八座，連城帶城郊都要給他們。從以色列人所得的地業中，你們要把一些城給利未人，人多的就要多給，人少的就要少給；每個支派要照著自己承受的產業，把城分給利未人。”

路上不要帶行囊，也不要帶兩件衣裳，不要帶鞋或手杖，因為作工的理當得到供應。

在聖道上受教的，應該和施教的人分享自己的一切美物。

那些善於治理教會的長老，尤其是那些在講道和教導上勞苦的長老，你們應當看他們是配受加倍的敬重和供奉的。因為經上說：“牛踹穀的時候，不可籠住牠的嘴。”又說：“作工的配得工價。”

你們獻給耶和華的地區，要長十二公里半，寬十公里。獻給祭司的聖地，北邊長十二公里半，西邊寬五公里，東邊寬五公里，南邊長十二公里半。這地要歸給祭司，就是撒督子孫中分別為聖的。他們守我所吩咐的職責；以色列人走迷路的時候，他們不像利未人那樣走迷路。因此，從所獻的聖區要有一塊地獻給祭司，作為至聖之地。這地沿著利未人的地界。沿著祭司的地界要有一塊地獻給利未人，長十二公里半，寬五公里。祭司的地也是長十二公里半，寬五公里。這地的任何部分不可變賣，不可交換，也不可轉讓給別人，因為它是這地中最好的一份，是歸耶和華為聖的。“所剩下的地，寬兩公里半，長十二公里半，要作俗地，供城市、居民和郊野之用。城要在其中。城的大小是這樣：北邊二千二百五十公尺，南邊二千二百五十公尺，東邊二千二百五十公尺，西邊二千二百五十公尺。城要有郊野，北邊一百二十五公尺，南邊一百二十五公尺，東邊一百二十五公尺，西邊一百二十五公尺。這俗地兩旁剩下的地，沿著所獻的聖區的長度計算，東邊五公里，西邊五公里，也沿著所獻的聖區。這些地的出產要給城裡的工人作食物。
