They gave them Kiriath Arba( that is, Hebron), with its surrounding pastureland, in the hill country of Judah.( Arba was the forefather of Anak.)

在犹大地中得了希伯仑和四围的郊野；

那时候，马利亚起身，急忙往山地里去，来到犹大的一座城；

以色列众支派来到希伯仑见大卫，说：“我们原是你的骨肉。从前扫罗作我们王的时候，率领以色列人出入的是你；耶和华也曾应许你说：‘你必牧养我的民以色列，作以色列的君。’”于是以色列的长老都来到希伯仑见大卫王，大卫在希伯仑耶和华面前与他们立约，他们就膏大卫作以色列的王。大卫登基的时候年三十岁，在位四十年；在希伯仑作犹大王七年零六个月，在耶路撒冷作以色列和犹大王三十三年。

满了四十年，押沙龙对王说：“求你准我往希伯仑去，还我向耶和华所许的愿。

此后，大卫问耶和华说：“我上犹大的一个城去可以吗？”耶和华说：“可以。”大卫说：“我上哪一个城去呢？”耶和华说：“上希伯仑去。”于是大卫和他的两个妻：一个是耶斯列人亚希暖，一个是作过迦密人拿八妻的亚比该，都上那里去了。大卫也将跟随他的人和他们各人的眷属一同带上去，住在希伯仑的城邑中。

于是，以色列人在拿弗他利山地分定加利利的基低斯；在以法莲山地分定示剑；在犹大山地分定基列亚巴（基列亚巴就是希伯仑）；又在约旦河外耶利哥东，从流便支派中，在旷野的平原，设立比悉；从迦得支派中设立基列的拉末；从玛拿西支派中设立巴珊的哥兰。这都是为以色列众人和在他们中间寄居的外人所分定的城邑，使误杀人的都可以逃到那里，不死在报血仇人的手中，等他站在会众面前听审判。

宏他、基列亚巴（基列亚巴就是希伯仑）、洗珥，共九座城，还有属城的村庄。

雅各来到他父亲以撒那里，到了基列亚巴的幔利，乃是亚伯拉罕和以撒寄居的地方；基列亚巴就是希伯仑。
