They gave them Kiriath Arba( that is, Hebron), with its surrounding pastureland, in the hill country of Judah.( Arba was the forefather of Anak.)

過了四年，押沙龍對王說：「請讓我去希伯崙向耶和華還我所許的願。

此後，大衛求問耶和華說：「我可以上猶大的一座城去嗎？」耶和華對他說：「可以上去。」大衛又問：「我應該上哪裡去呢？」耶和華說：「希伯崙。」於是大衛和他的兩個妻子——耶斯列人婭希暖和迦密人納巴爾的遺孀婭比蓋，就上希伯崙去了。大衛把跟隨他的部下和各人的家屬，也帶了上去。他們就在希伯崙的城鎮住下。

雅各來到他父親以撒那裡，到了基列-阿爾巴的幔利，就是亞伯拉罕和以撒寄居的地方；基列-阿爾巴就是希伯崙。

撒拉死在迦南地的基列-阿爾巴，就是希伯崙；亞伯拉罕前來為撒拉哀慟哭泣。
