If any of them go outside your house into the street, their blood will be on their own heads; we will not be responsible. As for those who are in the house with you, their blood will be on our head if a hand is laid on them.

None of you must go out into the street. If you do, anything that happens to you will be your own fault. We won’t be responsible. But if anyone hurts someone who is inside the house with you, it will be our fault. We will be responsible.

Then if anyone goes out of the doors of your house into the street, his blood shall be on his own head, and we shall be guiltless. But if a hand is laid on anyone who is with you in the house, his blood shall be on our head.

If they go out into the street and are killed, it will not be our fault. But if anyone lays a hand on people inside this house, we will accept the responsibility for their death.

If anyone goes out the doors of your house, his death will be his own fault, and we will be innocent. But if anyone with you in the house should be harmed, his death will be our fault.

And it shall come about that anyone who goes out of the doors of your house outside will have his blood on his own head, and we will be innocent; but anyone who is with you in the house, his blood will be on our head if a hand is laid on him.

So it shall be that whoever goes outside the doors of your house into the street, his blood shall be on his own head, and we will be guiltless. And whoever is with you in the house, his blood shall be on our head if a hand is laid on him.

Anyone who leaves your house will be responsible for his own death– we are innocent in that case! But if anyone with you in the house is harmed, we will be responsible.

then if anyone hears the trumpet but does not heed the warning and the sword comes and takes their life, their blood will be on their own head.Since they heard the sound of the trumpet but did not heed the warning, their blood will be on their own head. If they had heeded the warning, they would have saved themselves.

Then Paul said to the centurion and the soldiers,“ Unless these men stay with the ship, you cannot be saved.”

But when they opposed Paul and became abusive, he shook out his clothes in protest and said to them,“ Your blood be on your own heads! I am innocent of it. From now on I will go to the Gentiles.”

The Lord will repay him for the blood he shed, because without my father David knowing it he attacked two men and killed them with the sword. Both of them— Abner son of Ner, commander of Israel’s army, and Amasa son of Jether, commander of Judah’s army— were better men and more upright than he.

The blood will be a sign for you on the houses where you are, and when I see the blood, I will pass over you. No destructive plague will touch you when I strike Egypt.

When the Lord goes through the land to strike down the Egyptians, he will see the blood on the top and sides of the doorframe and will pass over that doorway, and he will not permit the destroyer to enter your houses and strike you down.

Later, when David heard about this, he said,“ I and my kingdom are forever innocent before the Lord concerning the blood of Abner son of Ner.May his blood fall on the head of Joab and on his whole family! May Joab’s family never be without someone who has a running sore or leprosy or who leans on a crutch or who falls by the sword or who lacks food.”

Therefore, I declare to you today that I am innocent of the blood of any of you.

When Pilate saw that he was getting nowhere, but that instead an uproar was starting, he took water and washed his hands in front of the crowd.“ I am innocent of this man’s blood,” he said.“ It is your responsibility!”All the people answered,“ His blood is on us and on our children!”

and be found in him, not having a righteousness of my own that comes from the law, but that which is through faith in Christ— the righteousness that comes from God on the basis of faith.

How much more severely do you think someone deserves to be punished who has trampled the Son of God underfoot, who has treated as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified them, and who has insulted the Spirit of grace?

How much more— when wicked men have killed an innocent man in his own house and on his own bed— should I not now demand his blood from your hand and rid the earth of you!”

“‘ If a man has sexual relations with his father’s wife, he has dishonored his father. Both the man and the woman are to be put to death; their blood will be on their own heads.

“ Our lives for your lives!” the men assured her.“ If you don’t tell what we are doing, we will treat you kindly and faithfully when the Lord gives us the land.”

“‘ Anyone who curses their father or mother is to be put to death. Because they have cursed their father or mother, their blood will be on their own head.

“‘ But if the accused ever goes outside the limits of the city of refuge to which they fledand the avenger of blood finds them outside the city, the avenger of blood may kill the accused without being guilty of murder.The accused must stay in the city of refuge until the death of the high priest; only after the death of the high priest may they return to their own property.

Then the king sent for Shimei and said to him,“ Build yourself a house in Jerusalem and live there, but do not go anywhere else.The day you leave and cross the Kidron Valley, you can be sure you will die; your blood will be on your own head.”Shimei answered the king,“ What you say is good. Your servant will do as my lord the king has said.” And Shimei stayed in Jerusalem for a long time.But three years later, two of Shimei’s slaves ran off to Achish son of Maakah, king of Gath, and Shimei was told,“ Your slaves are in Gath.”At this, he saddled his donkey and went to Achish at Gath in search of his slaves. So Shimei went away and brought the slaves back from Gath.When Solomon was told that Shimei had gone from Jerusalem to Gath and had returned,the king summoned Shimei and said to him,“ Did I not make you swear by the Lord and warn you,‘ On the day you leave to go anywhere else, you can be sure you will die’? At that time you said to me,‘ What you say is good. I will obey.’

Let no one on the housetop go down to take anything out of the house.

For David had said to him,“ Your blood be on your own head. Your own mouth testified against you when you said,‘ I killed the Lord’s anointed.’”

As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit— just as it has taught you, remain in him.And now, dear children, continue in him, so that when he appears we may be confident and unashamed before him at his coming.
