那兩個人對羅得說：「你這裏還有甚麼人嗎？無論是女婿，是兒女，這城中所有屬你的人，你都要把他們從這地方帶出去。我們要毀滅這地方，因為控告城內百姓的聲音在耶和華面前非常大，耶和華派我們來毀滅這城。」羅得出去，告訴娶了他女兒的女婿們說：「起來，離開這地方，因為耶和華要毀滅這城。」他的女婿們卻以為他說的是笑話。天亮了，天使催逼羅得說：「起來！帶着你的妻子和你這裏的兩個女兒出去，免得你因這城的罪孽同被剿滅。」但羅得遲延不走。二人因為耶和華憐憫羅得，就拉着他的手和他妻子的手，以及他兩個女兒的手，把他們領出來，安置在城外；領他們出來以後，就說：「逃命吧！不可回頭看，也不可在平原站住。要往山上逃跑，免得你被剿滅。」

耶和華對挪亞說：「你和你的全家都要進入方舟，因為在這世代中，我看你在我面前是個義人。

女人說：「就照你們的話吧！」於是她送他們走了，就把朱紅繩子繫在窗戶上。

現在我既然恩待你們，求你們指着耶和華向我起誓，你們也要恩待我的父家。請你們給我一個確實的憑據，要救活我的父母、兄弟、姊妹，和所有屬他們的，拯救我們的性命脫離死亡。」

彼得和他一邊說話一邊進去，見有好些人聚集，

因為摩西當日照着律法將各樣誡命傳給眾百姓，就拿朱紅色絨和牛膝草，把牛犢、山羊的血和水灑在書上，又灑在眾百姓身上，

他們要在這些東西的上面鋪上朱紅色的布，把精美皮料蓋在上面，再把槓穿上。

耶穌對他說：「今天救恩到了這家，因為他也是亞伯拉罕的子孫。

願主憐憫阿尼色弗一家的人，因為他屢次令我欣慰。他不以我的鐵鏈為恥，

他有話要告訴你，因這些話你和你的全家都可以得救。』

我何忍見我本族的人受害？何忍見我同宗的人被滅呢？」

所以我立刻派人去請你。你來了真好。現在我們都在上帝面前，要聽主吩咐你的一切話。」

祭司要把香柏木、牛膝草和朱紅色紗都丟在焚燒牛的火中。

我必使你成為大國，我必賜福給你，使你的名為大；你要使別人得福。

祭司就要吩咐人為那求潔淨的人帶兩隻潔淨的活鳥和香柏木、朱紅色紗，以及牛膝草來。
