And the men said unto her, We will be guiltless of this thine oath which thou hast made us to swear.

他们二人对她说：“如果你不遵照我们的话行，你叫我们起的誓就与我们无关了。

二人對她說：「要讓我們信守誓言，你必須這樣做，

他們二人對她說：“如果你不遵照我們的話行，你叫我們起的誓就與我們無關了。

二人就對她說：『以下這幾件事你總要行，不然、你叫我們起的誓就與我們無干了。

二人曰、爾使我所發之誓、我必守之而無咎、

二人曰、爾既用絳索以縋我、必以此索、仍繫於牖、集爾父母兄弟戚屬、至於斯室、厥後我儕至斯土、則爾使我所發之誓、我必恪守。

二人對曰、爾使我所發之誓、我必守之而不失信、

Now the men had said to her,“ This oath you made us swear will not be binding on us

The spies had said to her,“ You made us give our word. But we won’t keep our promise

The men said to her,“ We will be guiltless with respect to this oath of yours that you have made us swear.

Before they left, the men told her,“ We will be bound by the oath we have taken only if you follow these instructions.

The men said to her,“ We will be free from this oath you made us swear,

And the men said to her,“ We shall be exempt from this oath to you which you have made us swear,

So the men said to her:“ We will be blameless of this oath of yours which you have made us swear,

The men said to her,“ We will be free from this oath you made us swear,

And the men said unto her, We[ will be] blameless of this thine oath which thou hast made us swear.

The men said to her,“ We are not bound by this oath you made us swear unless the following conditions are met:

The men said to her,“ We will be guiltless of this your oath which you’ve made us to swear.

Ye shall not steal; neither shall ye deal falsely, nor lie one to another.And ye shall not swear by my name falsely, and profane the name of thy God: I am Jehovah.

When a man voweth a vow unto Jehovah, or sweareth an oath to bind his soul with a bond, he shall not break his word; he shall do according to all that proceedeth out of his mouth.

But the king spared Mephibosheth, the son of Jonathan the son of Saul, because of Jehovah’s oath that was between them, between David and Jonathan the son of Saul.

And there was a famine in the days of David three years, year after year; and David sought the face of Jehovah. And Jehovah said, It is for Saul, and for his bloody house, because he put to death the Gibeonites.And the king called the Gibeonites, and said unto them( now the Gibeonites were not of the children of Israel, but of the remnant of the Amorites; and the children of Israel had sworn unto them: and Saul sought to slay them in his zeal for the children of Israel and Judah);

But if thou utter this our business, then we shall be guiltless of thine oath which thou hast made us to swear.

Thou shalt not take the name of Jehovah thy God in vain; for Jehovah will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.

and I will make thee swear by Jehovah, the God of heaven and the God of the earth, that thou wilt not take a wife for my son of the daughters of the Canaanites, among whom I dwell:but thou shalt go unto my country, and to my kindred, and take a wife for my son Isaac.And the servant said unto him, Peradventure the woman will not be willing to follow me unto this land: must I needs bring thy son again unto the land from whence thou camest?And Abraham said unto him, Beware thou that thou bring not my son thither again.Jehovah, the God of heaven, who took me from my father’s house, and from the land of my nativity, and who spake unto me, and who sware unto me, saying, Unto thy seed will I give this land; he will send his angel before thee, and thou shalt take a wife for my son from thence.And if the woman be not willing to follow thee, then thou shalt be clear from this my oath; only thou shalt not bring my son thither again.
