As the men started on their way to map out the land, Joshua instructed them,“ Go and make a survey of the land and write a description of it. Then return to me, and I will cast lots for you here at Shiloh in the presence of the Lord.”

故當求和、彼此輔德、

約書亞在示羅耶和華前、為民掣籤、循以色列族班列。○

眾祈曰、主識眾心、請擇於斯二者、示孰為可、以任使徒職、蓋猶大離此職、往其所矣、於是鬮之、得馬提亞、遂與十一使徒同列云、

斯土既服、以色列會眾集於示羅、而立會幕、

其餘之地、必繪其形、分為七區、以復於我、我為爾掣籤、在爾上帝耶和華前。

掃羅祈以色列族之上帝耶和華、曰、願指示其實。掣籤得掃羅及約拿單。民弗與焉。

在迦南地、祭司以利亞撒、嫩之子約書亞、暨以色列族長、予民為業之地、臚列於左、掣籤分地與九支派、及支派之半、循耶和華諭摩西之命。

爾起徧行其地、我必賜爾。

約書亞夙興、使以色列各支派至、製籤而取猶大、使猶大各族至、而取西喇、使西喇各家至、而取颯底、使其家各人至、而取猶大支派、西喇曾孫、颯底孫、迦米子亞干。

猶大支派、循其世系、掣籤而得之地、其南界至以東邊隅、汛野南方。

汝分斯土、與九支派、及馬拿西支派之半、為其嗣業。
