掃羅向耶和華－以色列的神禱告說：「求你指示正確的答案。」抽中的是掃羅和約拿單，百姓盡都無事。

這是以色列人在迦南地所得的產業，就是祭司以利亞撒和嫩的兒子約書亞，以及以色列人各支派父系的領袖所分給他們的。他們照耶和華藉摩西所吩咐的，抽籤分產業給九個半支派。

你起來，縱橫走遍這地，因為我必把這地賜給你。」

於是，約書亞清早起來，召以色列按着支派近前來。選出來的是猶大支派。他召猶大的宗族近前來，選出來的是謝拉宗族。他召謝拉宗族，按着男丁，一個一個近前來，選出來的是撒底。他召撒底的家族，按着男丁，一個一個近前來，就選出猶大支派，謝拉的曾孫，撒底的孫子，迦米的兒子亞干。

猶大支派按着宗族抽籤所得之地是在最南端，到以東的邊界，往南直到尋的曠野。

現在你要把這地分給九個支派和瑪拿西半個支派為業。
