As the men started on their way to map out the land, Joshua instructed them,“ Go and make a survey of the land and write a description of it. Then return to me, and I will cast lots for you here at Shiloh in the presence of the Lord.”

掃羅禱以色列天主人曰之、求主指示其實、於是掣籤、得掃羅與約拿單、民皆無與、

以色列人在迦南所得之地、即祭司以利亞撒、與嫩之子約書亞、及以色列各支派族長、所予民為業之地、如下所記、分地俱以鬮而分、循主託摩西所命、予九支派及一支派之半、

爾起、縱橫遍行此地、我必以之賜爾、

明日約書亞夙興、使以色列各支派至掣籤而取猶大支派、使猶大支派各宗族至而取謝拉宗族、使謝拉宗族各家至而取颯底家、使其家各人至而取猶大支派、謝拉曾孫颯底孫迦米子亞干、

猶大支派循其宗族、以鬮所得之地、南方極南之界、近以東界、及汛野、

爾當分斯地予九支派、及瑪拿西半支派為業、
