The Levites, however, do not get a portion among you, because the priestly service of the Lord is their inheritance. And Gad, Reuben and the half-tribe of Manasseh have already received their inheritance on the east side of the Jordan. Moses the servant of the Lord gave it to them.”

But the Levites don’t get any share of your land. That’s because their share is to serve the Lord as priests. The tribes of Gad and Reuben and half of the tribe of Manasseh have already received their shares. They are on the east side of the Jordan River. Moses, the servant of the Lord, gave their shares to them.”

“ The Levites, however, will not receive any allotment of land. Their role as priests of the Lord is their allotment. And the tribes of Gad, Reuben, and the half tribe of Manasseh won’t receive any more land, for they have already received their grant of land, which Moses, the servant of the Lord, gave them on the east side of the Jordan River.”

With whom the Reubenites and the Gadites have received their inheritance, which Moses gave them, beyond Jordan eastward,[ even] as Moses the servant of the LORD gave them;From Aroer, that[ is] upon the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that[ is] in the midst of the river, and all the plain of Medeba unto Dibon;And all the cities of Sihon king of the Amorites, which reigned in Heshbon, unto the border of the children of Ammon;And Gilead, and the border of the Geshurites and Maachathites, and all mount Hermon, and all Bashan unto Salcah;All the kingdom of Og in Bashan, which reigned in Ashtaroth and in Edrei, who remained of the remnant of the giants: for these did Moses smite, and cast them out.Nevertheless the children of Israel expelled not the Geshurites, nor the Maachathites: but the Geshurites and the Maachathites dwell among the Israelites until this day.Only unto the tribe of Levi he gave none inheritance; the sacrifices of the LORD God of Israel made by fire[ are] their inheritance, as he said unto them.And Moses gave unto the tribe of the children of Reuben[ inheritance] according to their families.And their coast was from Aroer, that[ is] on the bank of the river Arnon, and the city that[ is] in the midst of the river, and all the plain by Medeba;Heshbon, and all her cities that[ are] in the plain; Dibon, and Bamothbaal, and Bethbaalmeon,And Jahazah, and Kedemoth, and Mephaath,And Kirjathaim, and Sibmah, and Zarethshahar in the mount of the valley,And Bethpeor, and Ashdothpisgah, and Bethjeshimoth,And all the cities of the plain, and all the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, which reigned in Heshbon, whom Moses smote with the princes of Midian, Evi, and Rekem, and Zur, and Hur, and Reba,[ which were] dukes of Sihon, dwelling in the country.Balaam also the son of Beor, the soothsayer, did the children of Israel slay with the sword among them that were slain by them.And the border of the children of Reuben was Jordan, and the border[ thereof]. This[ was] the inheritance of the children of Reuben after their families, the cities and the villages thereof.And Moses gave[ inheritance] unto the tribe of Gad,[ even] unto the children of Gad according to their families.And their coast was Jazer, and all the cities of Gilead, and half the land of the children of Ammon, unto Aroer that[ is] before Rabbah;And from Heshbon unto Ramathmizpeh, and Betonim; and from Mahanaim unto the border of Debir;And in the valley, Betharam, and Bethnimrah, and Succoth, and Zaphon, the rest of the kingdom of Sihon king of Heshbon, Jordan and[ his] border,[ even] unto the edge of the sea of Chinnereth on the other side Jordan eastward.This[ is] the inheritance of the children of Gad after their families, the cities, and their villages.And Moses gave[ inheritance] unto the half tribe of Manasseh: and[ this] was[ the possession] of the half tribe of the children of Manasseh by their families.And their coast was from Mahanaim, all Bashan, all the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, and all the towns of Jair, which[ are] in Bashan, threescore cities:And half Gilead, and Ashtaroth, and Edrei, cities of the kingdom of Og in Bashan,[ were pertaining] unto the children of Machir the son of Manasseh,[ even] to the one half of the children of Machir by their families.

And Moses said unto them, If the children of Gad and the children of Reuben will pass with you over Jordan, every man armed to battle, before the LORD, and the land shall be subdued before you; then ye shall give them the land of Gilead for a possession:But if they will not pass over with you armed, they shall have possessions among you in the land of Canaan.And the children of Gad and the children of Reuben answered, saying, As the LORD hath said unto thy servants, so will we do.We will pass over armed before the LORD into the land of Canaan, that the possession of our inheritance on this side Jordan[ may be] ours.And Moses gave unto them,[ even] to the children of Gad, and to the children of Reuben, and unto half the tribe of Manasseh the son of Joseph, the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites, and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan, the land, with the cities thereof in the coasts,[ even] the cities of the country round about.And the children of Gad built Dibon, and Ataroth, and Aroer,And Atroth, Shophan, and Jaazer, and Jogbehah,And Bethnimrah, and Bethharan, fenced cities: and folds for sheep.And the children of Reuben built Heshbon, and Elealeh, and Kirjathaim,And Nebo, and Baalmeon,( their names being changed,) and Shibmah: and gave other names unto the cities which they builded.And the children of Machir the son of Manasseh went to Gilead, and took it, and dispossessed the Amorite which[ was] in it.And Moses gave Gilead unto Machir the son of Manasseh; and he dwelt therein.And Jair the son of Manasseh went and took the small towns thereof, and called them Havothjair.

Wherefore Levi hath no part nor inheritance with his brethren; the LORD[ is] his inheritance, according as the LORD thy God promised him.

The priests the Levites,[ and] all the tribe of Levi, shall have no part nor inheritance with Israel: they shall eat the offerings of the LORD made by fire, and his inheritance.Therefore shall they have no inheritance among their brethren: the LORD[ is] their inheritance, as he hath said unto them.

But the Levites shall do the service of the tabernacle of the congregation, and they shall bear their iniquity:[ it shall be] a statute for ever throughout your generations, that among the children of Israel they have no inheritance.

And this land,[ which] we possessed at that time, from Aroer, which[ is] by the river Arnon, and half mount Gilead, and the cities thereof, gave I unto the Reubenites and to the Gadites.And the rest of Gilead, and all Bashan,[ being] the kingdom of Og, gave I unto the half tribe of Manasseh; all the region of Argob, with all Bashan, which was called the land of giants.Jair the son of Manasseh took all the country of Argob unto the coasts of Geshuri and Maachathi; and called them after his own name, Bashanhavothjair, unto this day.And I gave Gilead unto Machir.And unto the Reubenites and unto the Gadites I gave from Gilead even unto the river Arnon half the valley, and the border even unto the river Jabbok,[ which is] the border of the children of Ammon;The plain also, and Jordan, and the coast[ thereof], from Chinnereth even unto the sea of the plain,[ even] the salt sea, under Ashdothpisgah eastward.

And they possessed his land, and the land of Og king of Bashan, two kings of the Amorites, which[ were] on this side Jordan toward the sunrising;From Aroer, which[ is] by the bank of the river Arnon, even unto mount Sion, which[ is] Hermon,
