They buried the bones of Saul and Jonathan his son in the country of Benjamin in Zelah, in the tomb of Kish his father. So they performed all that the king commanded. And after that God heeded the prayer for the land.

And the border went up by the Valley of the Son of Hinnom to the southern slope of the Jebusite city( which is Jerusalem). The border went up to the top of the mountain that lies before the Valley of Hinnom westward, which is at the end of the Valley of Rephaim northward.

Then Samuel arose and went up from Gilgal to Gibeah of Benjamin. And Saul numbered the people present with him, about six hundred men.Saul, Jonathan his son, and the people present with them remained in Gibeah of Benjamin. But the Philistines encamped in Michmash.

And Saul also went home to Gibeah; and valiant men went with him, whose hearts God had touched.

They have gone along the ridge, They have taken up lodging at Geba. Ramah is afraid, Gibeah of Saul has fled.

“ O Israel, you have sinned from the days of Gibeah; There they stood. The battle in Gibeah against the children of iniquity Did not overtake them.

But his master said to him,“ We will not turn aside here into a city of foreigners, who are not of the children of Israel; we will go on to Gibeah.”So he said to his servant,“ Come, let us draw near to one of these places, and spend the night in Gibeah or in Ramah.”And they passed by and went their way; and the sun went down on them near Gibeah, which belongs to Benjamin.They turned aside there to go in to lodge in Gibeah. And when he went in, he sat down in the open square of the city, for no one would take them into his house to spend the night.

To a large tribe you shall give a larger inheritance, and to a small tribe you shall give a smaller inheritance. Each shall be given its inheritance according to those who were numbered of them.

So the Levite, the husband of the woman who was murdered, answered and said,“ My concubine and I went into Gibeah, which belongs to Benjamin, to spend the night.And the men of Gibeah rose against me, and surrounded the house at night because of me. They intended to kill me, but instead they ravished my concubine so that she died.

Then the border came down to the end of the mountain that lies before the Valley of the Son of Hinnom, which is in the Valley of the Rephaim on the north, descended to the Valley of Hinnom, to the side of the Jebusite city on the south, and descended to En Rogel.

As for the Jebusites, the inhabitants of Jerusalem, the children of Judah could not drive them out; but the Jebusites dwell with the children of Judah at Jerusalem to this day.

And you shall divide the land by lot as an inheritance among your families; to the larger you shall give a larger inheritance, and to the smaller you shall give a smaller inheritance; there everyone’s inheritance shall be whatever falls to him by lot. You shall inherit according to the tribes of your fathers.

Now David said on that day,“ Whoever climbs up by way of the water shaft and defeats the Jebusites( the lame and the blind, who are hated by David’s soul), he shall be chief and captain.” Therefore they say,“ The blind and the lame shall not come into the house.”
