這人年年從本城上示羅去敬拜、獻祭給萬軍之永恆主；在那裏有以利的兩個兒子、何弗尼、非尼哈、做永恆主的祭司。

你請到我的地方，就是那在示羅的，我起先使我的名居住的所在，去察看我因我人民以色列的邪惡對那地所行的怎麼樣。現在呢、永恆主發神諭說，因你們行了這一切事，我也曾告誡了你們，又及時又屢次地告誡，你們卻不聽；我呼喚你們，你們卻不應，因此我必待這殿，就是這稱為我名下的，你們所倚靠的，我必待這地方，就是我所賜給你們、和你們列祖的，像我從前待示羅一樣。

於是如便人、迦得人、和瑪拿西半族派的人、從迦南地的示羅起行，離開以色列人，回他們擁為產業之地的基列地去，就是照永恆主由摩西經手所吩咐、讓他們擁為產業的地方。

上帝的殿在示羅多少日子，但人為自己設立米迦所造的雕像也多少日子。

既給孩子斷了奶，她就把他帶上去，又將一隻三歲的公牛、一伊法麵粉、一皮袋酒、一齊帶到示羅永恆主的殿；也帶孩子去；

耶羅波安對他的妻子說：『你起來改裝，使人不知道你是耶羅波安的妻子；往示羅去；看吧，在那裏有神言人亞希雅；他曾說到我必作王管理這人民的事。

耶羅波安的妻子就這樣行；她就起身、往示羅去，到了亞希雅家裏。亞希雅因為年紀老邁，眼目發直，不能看見。

他擊退了他的敵人，使他們永蒙羞辱。

有人就說：『看哪，在示羅年年有拜永恆主的節期』；（示羅就在伯特利北邊，從伯特利上示劍的大路上之東邊，又在利波拿南邊）。

於是所羅門革除亞比亞他，不許他做永恆主的祭司；這便應驗了永恆主的話、就是他對以利家在示羅的事上所說的。
