But the mountain shall be thine; for it[ is] a wood, and thou shalt cut it down: and the outgoings of it shall be thine: for thou shalt drive out the Canaanites, though they have iron chariots,[ and] though they[ be] strong.

but the forested hill country as well. Clear it, and its farthest limits will be yours; though the Canaanites have chariots fitted with iron and though they are strong, you can drive them out.”

You will also have the central hill country. It’s covered with trees. Cut them down and clear the land. That whole land from one end to the other will belong to you. The Canaanites use chariots that have iron parts. And those people are strong. But you can drive them out.”

What shall we then say to these things? If God[ be] for us, who[ can be] against us?

So that we may boldly say, The Lord[ is] my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me.

Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.

And Joshua the son of Nun, and Caleb the son of Jephunneh,[ which were] of them that searched the land, rent their clothes:And they spake unto all the company of the children of Israel, saying, The land, which we passed through to search it,[ is] an exceeding good land.If the LORD delight in us, then he will bring us into this land, and give it us; a land which floweth with milk and honey.Only rebel not ye against the LORD, neither fear ye the people of the land; for they[ are] bread for us: their defence is departed from them, and the LORD[ is] with us: fear them not.

When thou goest out to battle against thine enemies, and seest horses, and chariots,[ and] a people more than thou, be not afraid of them: for the LORD thy God[ is] with thee, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.And it shall be, when ye are come nigh unto the battle, that the priest shall approach and speak unto the people,And shall say unto them, Hear, O Israel, ye approach this day unto battle against your enemies: let not your hearts faint, fear not, and do not tremble, neither be ye terrified because of them;For the LORD your God[ is] he that goeth with you, to fight for you against your enemies, to save you.

The LORD[ is] my light and my salvation; whom shall I fear? the LORD[ is] the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?When the wicked,[ even] mine enemies and my foes, came upon me to eat up my flesh, they stumbled and fell.

And they appointed Kedesh in Galilee in mount Naphtali, and Shechem in mount Ephraim, and Kirjatharba, which[ is] Hebron, in the mountain of Judah.

Fear thou not; for I[ am] with thee: be not dismayed; for I[ am] thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.Behold, all they that were incensed against thee shall be ashamed and confounded: they shall be as nothing; and they that strive with thee shall perish.Thou shalt seek them, and shalt not find them,[ even] them that contended with thee: they that war against thee shall be as nothing, and as a thing of nought.For I the LORD thy God will hold thy right hand, saying unto thee, Fear not; I will help thee.Fear not, thou worm Jacob,[ and] ye men of Israel; I will help thee, saith the LORD, and thy redeemer, the Holy One of Israel.Behold, I will make thee a new sharp threshing instrument having teeth: thou shalt thresh the mountains, and beat[ them] small, and shalt make the hills as chaff.Thou shalt fan them, and the wind shall carry them away, and the whirlwind shall scatter them: and thou shalt rejoice in the LORD,[ and] shalt glory in the Holy One of Israel.

And they went out, they and all their hosts with them, much people, even as the sand that[ is] upon the sea shore in multitude, with horses and chariots very many.And when all these kings were met together, they came and pitched together at the waters of Merom, to fight against Israel.And the LORD said unto Joshua, Be not afraid because of them: for tomorrow about this time will I deliver them up all slain before Israel: thou shalt hough their horses, and burn their chariots with fire.

And the border was drawn from the top of the hill unto the fountain of the water of Nephtoah, and went out to the cities of mount Ephron; and the border was drawn to Baalah, which[ is] Kirjathjearim:

And Joshua answered them, If thou[ be] a great people,[ then] get thee up to the wood[ country], and cut down for thyself there in the land of the Perizzites and of the giants, if mount Ephraim be too narrow for thee.And the children of Joseph said, The hill is not enough for us: and all the Canaanites that dwell in the land of the valley have chariots of iron,[ both they] who[ are] of Bethshean and her towns, and[ they] who[ are] of the valley of Jezreel.

All the inhabitants of the hill country from Lebanon unto Misrephothmaim,[ and] all the Sidonians, them will I drive out from before the children of Israel: only divide thou it by lot unto the Israelites for an inheritance, as I have commanded thee.

I,[ even] I,[ am] he that comforteth you: who[ art] thou, that thou shouldest be afraid of a man[ that] shall die, and of the son of man[ which] shall be made[ as] grass;And forgettest the LORD thy maker, that hath stretched forth the heavens, and laid the foundations of the earth; and hast feared continually every day because of the fury of the oppressor, as if he were ready to destroy? and where[ is] the fury of the oppressor?
