至于住耶路撒冷的耶布斯人，便雅悯人没有把他们赶出。于是，耶布斯人与便雅悯人同住在耶路撒冷，直到今日。

犹大人攻打耶路撒冷，夺取了它，用刀杀城内的人，并且放火烧城。

王和他的人到了耶路撒冷，要攻打住那地方的耶布斯人。耶布斯人对大卫说：“你必不能进到这里，就是盲人、瘸子都可以把你击退。”就是说：“大卫绝不能进到这里。”然而大卫攻取了锡安的堡垒，就是大卫的城。当日，大卫说：“谁攻打耶布斯人，就要从水道上去，攻打我心里所恨恶的瘸子、盲人。”因此有人说：“盲人和瘸子不得进殿里去。”大卫住在堡垒里，给它起名叫大卫城。大卫又从米罗往内，周围建筑。

大卫和以色列众人到了耶路撒冷，就是耶布斯；那时耶布斯人住在那里。耶布斯人对大卫说：“你必不能进到这里。”然而大卫攻取了锡安的堡垒，就是大卫的城。大卫说：“谁先攻打耶布斯人，必作领袖，作元帅。”洗鲁雅的儿子约押先上去，就作了领袖。大卫住在堡垒里，所以那堡垒叫作大卫城。大卫又从米罗起，四围建筑城墙，其余的由约押修建。

我们原知道律法是属灵的，我却是属肉体的，是已经卖给罪了。因为我所做的，我自己不明白。我所愿意的，我并不做；我所恨恶的，我反而去做。如果我所做的是我所不愿意的，我得承认律法是善的。事实上，这不是我做的，而是住在我里面的罪做的。我也知道，住在我里面的，就是我肉体之中，没有善。因为立志为善由得我，只是行出来由不得我。我所愿意的善，我不去做；我所不愿意的恶，我反而去做。如果我去做我不愿意做的，就不是我做的，而是住在我里面的罪做的。我觉得有个律，就是我愿意行善的时候，就有恶缠着我。
