In accordance with the Lord’s command to him, Joshua gave to Caleb son of Jephunneh a portion in Judah— Kiriath Arba, that is, Hebron.( Arba was the forefather of Anak.)

Joshua gave a part of Judah’s share of land to Caleb, the son of Jephunneh. That was according to the Lord’ s command to Joshua. The share Caleb received was the city of Hebron. It was also called Kiriath Arba. Anak came from the family line of Arba.

According to the commandment of the Lord to Joshua, he gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the people of Judah, Kiriath-arba, that is, Hebron( Arba was the father of Anak).

The Lord commanded Joshua to assign some of Judah’s territory to Caleb son of Jephunneh. So Caleb was given the town of Kiriath arba( that is, Hebron), which had been named after Anak’s ancestor.

He gave Caleb son of Jephunneh the following portion among the descendants of Judah based on the LORD’s instruction to Joshua: Kiriath-arba( that is, Hebron; Arba was the father of Anak).

Now he gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the sons of Judah, in accordance with the command of the Lord to Joshua, namely, Kiriath arba, Arba being the father of Anak( that is, Hebron).

Now to Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a share among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the Lord to Joshua, namely, Kirjath Arba, which is Hebron( Arba was the father of Anak).

And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of Jehovah to Joshua, even Kiriath- arba, which Arba was the father of Anak( the same is Hebron).

He gave Caleb son of Jephunneh the following portion among the descendants of Judah based on the Lord’s instruction to Joshua: Kiriath-arba( that is, Hebron; Arba was the father of Anak).

And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua,[ even] the city of Arba the father of Anak, which[ city is] Hebron.

Caleb son of Jephunneh was assigned Kiriath Arba( that is Hebron) within the tribe of Judah, according to the LORD’s instructions to Joshua.( Arba was the father of Anak.)

He gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of Yahweh to Joshua, even Kiriath Arba, named after the father of Anak( also called Hebron).

迦勒在摩西面前安撫百姓，說：「我們立刻上去得那地吧！我們必能征服它。」

「耶和華聽見你們的怨言，就發怒，起誓說：『這邪惡世代的人，一個也不得看見我起誓要賜給你們列祖的美地；惟有耶孚尼的兒子迦勒必得看見，並且我要將他所踏過的地賜給他和他的子孫，因為他專心跟從我。』

猶大人來到吉甲，約書亞那裏，基尼洗族耶孚尼的兒子迦勒對約書亞說：「耶和華在加低斯‧巴尼亞指着我和你對神人摩西所說的話，你都知道。耶和華的僕人摩西從加低斯‧巴尼亞差派我窺探這地的時候，我剛四十歲。我把心裏的話向他報告。雖然同我上去的眾弟兄使百姓膽戰心驚，我仍然專心跟從耶和華－我的上帝。那日，摩西起誓說：『你腳所踏之地必要歸你和你的子孫永遠為業，因為你專心跟從耶和華－我的上帝。』現在，看哪，耶和華照他所說的使我活了這四十五年。當以色列人在曠野飄流的時候，耶和華曾對摩西說了這話。現在，看哪，我已經八十五歲了。現今我還很健壯，像摩西差派我去的那天一樣；無論是戰爭，是出入，我現在的力量和那時的力量一樣。請你將耶和華那日所說的這山區給我。那日你也曾聽說，這裏有亞衲族人，以及寬大堅固的城，或許耶和華會照他所說的與我同在，我就把他們趕出去。」於是約書亞為耶孚尼的兒子迦勒祝福，把希伯崙給他為業。所以希伯崙成了基尼洗族耶孚尼的兒子迦勒的產業，直到今日，因為他專心跟從耶和華－以色列的上帝。希伯崙從前名叫基列‧亞巴；亞巴是亞衲族最尊貴的人。於是國中太平，沒有戰爭了。

他們絕不能看見我向他們祖宗所起誓應許之地；凡藐視我的，一個也不得看見。惟獨我的僕人迦勒，因他另有一個心志，專心跟從我，我要領他進入他所去過的那地；他的後裔必得那地為業。
