In accordance with the Lord’s command to him, Joshua gave to Caleb son of Jephunneh a portion in Judah— Kiriath Arba, that is, Hebron.( Arba was the forefather of Anak.)

Joshua gave a part of Judah’s share of land to Caleb, the son of Jephunneh. That was according to the Lord’ s command to Joshua. The share Caleb received was the city of Hebron. It was also called Kiriath Arba. Anak came from the family line of Arba.

According to the commandment of the Lord to Joshua, he gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the people of Judah, Kiriath-arba, that is, Hebron( Arba was the father of Anak).

The Lord commanded Joshua to assign some of Judah’s territory to Caleb son of Jephunneh. So Caleb was given the town of Kiriath arba( that is, Hebron), which had been named after Anak’s ancestor.

He gave Caleb son of Jephunneh the following portion among the descendants of Judah based on the LORD’s instruction to Joshua: Kiriath-arba( that is, Hebron; Arba was the father of Anak).

Now he gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the sons of Judah, in accordance with the command of the Lord to Joshua, namely, Kiriath arba, Arba being the father of Anak( that is, Hebron).

Now to Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a share among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the Lord to Joshua, namely, Kirjath Arba, which is Hebron( Arba was the father of Anak).

And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of Jehovah to Joshua, even Kiriath- arba, which Arba was the father of Anak( the same is Hebron).

He gave Caleb son of Jephunneh the following portion among the descendants of Judah based on the Lord’s instruction to Joshua: Kiriath-arba( that is, Hebron; Arba was the father of Anak).

And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua,[ even] the city of Arba the father of Anak, which[ city is] Hebron.

Caleb son of Jephunneh was assigned Kiriath Arba( that is Hebron) within the tribe of Judah, according to the LORD’s instructions to Joshua.( Arba was the father of Anak.)

He gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of Yahweh to Joshua, even Kiriath Arba, named after the father of Anak( also called Hebron).

迦勒在摩西面前安抚百姓，说：“我们立刻上去得那地吧！我们必能征服它。”

“耶和华听见你们的怨言，就发怒，起誓说：‘这邪恶世代的人，一个也不得看见我起誓要赐给你们列祖的美地；惟有耶孚尼的儿子迦勒必得看见，并且我要将他所踏过的地赐给他和他的子孙，因为他专心跟从我。’

犹大人来到吉甲，约书亚那里，基尼洗族耶孚尼的儿子迦勒对约书亚说：“耶和华在加低斯‧巴尼亚指着我和你对神人摩西所说的话，你都知道。耶和华的仆人摩西从加低斯‧巴尼亚差派我窥探这地的时候，我刚四十岁。我把心里的话向他报告。虽然同我上去的众弟兄使百姓胆战心惊，我仍然专心跟从耶和华—我的神。那日，摩西起誓说：‘你脚所踏之地必要归你和你的子孙永远为业，因为你专心跟从耶和华—我的神。’现在，看哪，耶和华照他所说的使我活了这四十五年。当以色列人在旷野飘流的时候，耶和华曾对摩西说了这话。现在，看哪，我已经八十五岁了。现今我还很健壮，像摩西差派我去的那天一样；无论是战争，是出入，我现在的力量和那时的力量一样。请你将耶和华那日所说的这山区给我。那日你也曾听说，这里有亚衲族人，以及宽大坚固的城，或许耶和华会照他所说的与我同在，我就把他们赶出去。”于是约书亚为耶孚尼的儿子迦勒祝福，把希伯仑给他为业。所以希伯仑成了基尼洗族耶孚尼的儿子迦勒的产业，直到今日，因为他专心跟从耶和华—以色列的神。希伯仑从前名叫基列‧亚巴；亚巴是亚衲族最尊贵的人。于是国中太平，没有战争了。

他们绝不能看见我向他们祖宗所起誓应许之地；凡藐视我的，一个也不得看见。惟独我的仆人迦勒，因他另有一个心志，专心跟从我，我要领他进入他所去过的那地；他的后裔必得那地为业。
