In accordance with the Lord’s command to him, Joshua gave to Caleb son of Jephunneh a portion in Judah— Kiriath Arba, that is, Hebron.( Arba was the forefather of Anak.)

约书亚照耶和华所吩咐的，将犹大人中的一段地，就是基列亚巴，分给耶孚尼的儿子迦勒。亚巴是亚衲族的始祖（基列亚巴就是希伯仑）。

在猶大業中、約書亞以亞納父亞巴邑、即希伯崙、予耶孚尼子迦勒、循耶和華命。

約書亞遵主所命、使耶孚尼子迦勒在猶大支派中得地為業、即亞衲族之祖亞巴之邑希伯崙、

Joshua gave a part of Judah’s share of land to Caleb, the son of Jephunneh. That was according to the Lord’ s command to Joshua. The share Caleb received was the city of Hebron. It was also called Kiriath Arba. Anak came from the family line of Arba.

According to the commandment of the Lord to Joshua, he gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the people of Judah, Kiriath-arba, that is, Hebron( Arba was the father of Anak).

The Lord commanded Joshua to assign some of Judah’s territory to Caleb son of Jephunneh. So Caleb was given the town of Kiriath arba( that is, Hebron), which had been named after Anak’s ancestor.

He gave Caleb son of Jephunneh the following portion among the descendants of Judah based on the LORD’s instruction to Joshua: Kiriath-arba( that is, Hebron; Arba was the father of Anak).

Now he gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the sons of Judah, in accordance with the command of the Lord to Joshua, namely, Kiriath arba, Arba being the father of Anak( that is, Hebron).

Now to Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a share among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the Lord to Joshua, namely, Kirjath Arba, which is Hebron( Arba was the father of Anak).

And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of Jehovah to Joshua, even Kiriath- arba, which Arba was the father of Anak( the same is Hebron).

He gave Caleb son of Jephunneh the following portion among the descendants of Judah based on the Lord’s instruction to Joshua: Kiriath-arba( that is, Hebron; Arba was the father of Anak).

And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua,[ even] the city of Arba the father of Anak, which[ city is] Hebron.

Caleb son of Jephunneh was assigned Kiriath Arba( that is Hebron) within the tribe of Judah, according to the LORD’s instructions to Joshua.( Arba was the father of Anak.)

He gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of Yahweh to Joshua, even Kiriath Arba, named after the father of Anak( also called Hebron).

Then Caleb silenced the people before Moses and said,“ We should go up and take possession of the land, for we can certainly do it.”

When the Lord heard what you said, he was angry and solemnly swore:“ No one from this evil generation shall see the good land I swore to give your ancestors,except Caleb son of Jephunneh. He will see it, and I will give him and his descendants the land he set his feet on, because he followed the Lord wholeheartedly.”

Now the people of Judah approached Joshua at Gilgal, and Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite said to him,“ You know what the Lord said to Moses the man of God at Kadesh Barnea about you and me.I was forty years old when Moses the servant of the Lord sent me from Kadesh Barnea to explore the land. And I brought him back a report according to my convictions,but my fellow Israelites who went up with me made the hearts of the people melt in fear. I, however, followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly.So on that day Moses swore to me,‘ The land on which your feet have walked will be your inheritance and that of your children forever, because you have followed the Lord my God wholeheartedly.’“ Now then, just as the Lord promised, he has kept me alive for forty-five years since the time he said this to Moses, while Israel moved about in the wilderness. So here I am today, eighty-five years old!I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I’m just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then.Now give me this hill country that the Lord promised me that day. You yourself heard then that the Anakites were there and their cities were large and fortified, but, the Lord helping me, I will drive them out just as he said.”Then Joshua blessed Caleb son of Jephunneh and gave him Hebron as his inheritance.So Hebron has belonged to Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite ever since, because he followed the Lord, the God of Israel, wholeheartedly.( Hebron used to be called Kiriath Arba after Arba, who was the greatest man among the Anakites.) Then the land had rest from war.

not one of them will ever see the land I promised on oath to their ancestors. No one who has treated me with contempt will ever see it.But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land he went to, and his descendants will inherit it.
