In accordance with the Lord’s command to him, Joshua gave to Caleb son of Jephunneh a portion in Judah— Kiriath Arba, that is, Hebron.( Arba was the forefather of Anak.)

Joshua gave a part of Judah’s share of land to Caleb, the son of Jephunneh. That was according to the Lord’ s command to Joshua. The share Caleb received was the city of Hebron. It was also called Kiriath Arba. Anak came from the family line of Arba.

According to the commandment of the Lord to Joshua, he gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the people of Judah, Kiriath-arba, that is, Hebron( Arba was the father of Anak).

The Lord commanded Joshua to assign some of Judah’s territory to Caleb son of Jephunneh. So Caleb was given the town of Kiriath arba( that is, Hebron), which had been named after Anak’s ancestor.

He gave Caleb son of Jephunneh the following portion among the descendants of Judah based on the LORD’s instruction to Joshua: Kiriath-arba( that is, Hebron; Arba was the father of Anak).

Now he gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the sons of Judah, in accordance with the command of the Lord to Joshua, namely, Kiriath arba, Arba being the father of Anak( that is, Hebron).

Now to Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a share among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the Lord to Joshua, namely, Kirjath Arba, which is Hebron( Arba was the father of Anak).

And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of Jehovah to Joshua, even Kiriath- arba, which Arba was the father of Anak( the same is Hebron).

He gave Caleb son of Jephunneh the following portion among the descendants of Judah based on the Lord’s instruction to Joshua: Kiriath-arba( that is, Hebron; Arba was the father of Anak).

And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua,[ even] the city of Arba the father of Anak, which[ city is] Hebron.

Caleb son of Jephunneh was assigned Kiriath Arba( that is Hebron) within the tribe of Judah, according to the LORD’s instructions to Joshua.( Arba was the father of Anak.)

He gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of Yahweh to Joshua, even Kiriath Arba, named after the father of Anak( also called Hebron).

迦勒在摩西面前安撫百姓，說：「我們立刻上去得那地吧！我們足能得勝。」

「耶和華聽見你們這話，就發怒，起誓說：『這惡世代的人，連一個也不得見我起誓應許賜給你們列祖的美地；惟有耶孚尼的兒子迦勒必得看見，並且我要將他所踏過的地賜給他和他的子孫，因為他專心跟從我。』

那時，猶大人來到吉甲見約書亞，有基尼洗族耶孚尼的兒子迦勒對約書亞說：「耶和華在加低斯‧巴尼亞指着我與你對神人摩西所說的話，你都知道了。耶和華的僕人摩西從加低斯‧巴尼亞打發我窺探這地，那時我正四十歲；我按着心意回報他。然而，同我上去的眾弟兄使百姓的心消化；但我專心跟從耶和華－我的神。當日摩西起誓說：『你腳所踏之地定要歸你和你的子孫永遠為業，因為你專心跟從耶和華－我的神。』自從耶和華對摩西說這話的時候，耶和華照他所應許的使我存活這四十五年；其間以色列人在曠野行走。看哪，現今我八十五歲了，我還是強壯，像摩西打發我去的那天一樣；無論是爭戰，是出入，我的力量那時如何，現在還是如何。求你將耶和華那日應許我的這山地給我；那裏有亞衲族人，並寬大堅固的城，你也曾聽見了。或者耶和華照他所應許的與我同在，我就把他們趕出去。」於是約書亞為耶孚尼的兒子迦勒祝福，將希伯崙給他為業。所以希伯崙作了基尼洗族耶孚尼的兒子迦勒的產業，直到今日，因為他專心跟從耶和華－以色列的神。希伯崙從前名叫基列‧亞巴；亞巴是亞衲族中最尊大的人。於是國中太平，沒有爭戰了。

他們斷不得看見我向他們的祖宗所起誓應許之地。凡藐視我的，一個也不得看見；惟獨我的僕人迦勒，因他另有一個心志，專一跟從我，我就把他領進他所去過的那地；他的後裔也必得那地為業。
