約書亞照著耶和華所吩咐的，把猶大人的一份地業，就是基列．亞巴，分給了耶孚尼的兒子迦勒；亞巴是亞衲人的祖先。基列．亞巴就是希伯崙。

In accordance with the Lord’s command to him, Joshua gave to Caleb son of Jephunneh a portion in Judah— Kiriath Arba, that is, Hebron.( Arba was the forefather of Anak.)

Joshua gave a part of Judah’s share of land to Caleb, the son of Jephunneh. That was according to the Lord’ s command to Joshua. The share Caleb received was the city of Hebron. It was also called Kiriath Arba. Anak came from the family line of Arba.

According to the commandment of the Lord to Joshua, he gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the people of Judah, Kiriath-arba, that is, Hebron( Arba was the father of Anak).

The Lord commanded Joshua to assign some of Judah’s territory to Caleb son of Jephunneh. So Caleb was given the town of Kiriath arba( that is, Hebron), which had been named after Anak’s ancestor.

He gave Caleb son of Jephunneh the following portion among the descendants of Judah based on the LORD’s instruction to Joshua: Kiriath-arba( that is, Hebron; Arba was the father of Anak).

Now he gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the sons of Judah, in accordance with the command of the Lord to Joshua, namely, Kiriath arba, Arba being the father of Anak( that is, Hebron).

Now to Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a share among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the Lord to Joshua, namely, Kirjath Arba, which is Hebron( Arba was the father of Anak).

And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of Jehovah to Joshua, even Kiriath- arba, which Arba was the father of Anak( the same is Hebron).

He gave Caleb son of Jephunneh the following portion among the descendants of Judah based on the Lord’s instruction to Joshua: Kiriath-arba( that is, Hebron; Arba was the father of Anak).

And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua,[ even] the city of Arba the father of Anak, which[ city is] Hebron.

Caleb son of Jephunneh was assigned Kiriath Arba( that is Hebron) within the tribe of Judah, according to the LORD’s instructions to Joshua.( Arba was the father of Anak.)

He gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of Yahweh to Joshua, even Kiriath Arba, named after the father of Anak( also called Hebron).

迦勒在摩西面前使眾人鎮靜，說：“我們立刻上去，佔領那地吧！因為我們必能得勝。”

“耶和華聽見了你們說話的聲音，就惱怒，起誓說：‘這個邪惡世代的人，連一個也不能看見我起誓應許賜給他們列祖的美地；只有耶孚尼的兒子迦勒可以看見；並且我要把他踏過的地賜給他和他的子孫，因為他專心跟從了我耶和華。’

猶大人來到吉甲約書亞那裡，基尼洗人耶孚尼的兒子迦勒對約書亞說：“耶和華在加低斯．巴尼亞對神人摩西所說關於你和我的話，你是知道的。耶和華的僕人摩西從加低斯．巴尼亞派我去窺探這地的時候，我正四十歲；我照著我心裡所想的向他報告。可是，與我一同上去的眾兄弟卻使人民的心驚懼，我卻完全順從耶和華我的神。那天摩西起誓說：‘你的腳踏過的地都必歸你和你的子孫作產業，直到永遠，因為你完全順從耶和華我的神。’現在你看，自從耶和華對摩西說了這話以後，耶和華照著所應許的，使我活了這四十五年，就是以色列人在曠野行走的時期；現在你看，我今日已經是八十五歲了。今日我還是強壯，像摩西派我去的那天一樣；無論是作戰，或是出入，那時我的力量怎樣，現在我的力量還是怎樣。現在求你把耶和華那日所應許的這山地賜給我；因為那天你也曾聽見那裡有亞衲人，又有寬大堅固的城；也許耶和華與我同在，我就可以把他們趕出去，正如耶和華所應許的。”於是約書亞給迦勒祝福，把希伯崙賜給了耶孚尼的兒子迦勒作產業。因此，希伯崙成了基尼洗人耶孚尼的兒子迦勒的產業，直到今日；因為他完全順從耶和華以色列的神。希伯崙從前名叫基列．亞巴；亞巴是亞衲人中最偉大的人。全地也就止息了戰爭。

他們決不得看見我向他們的祖宗起誓應許之地；藐視我的，一個也不能看見那地。但是我的僕人迦勒，因他另有一個心志，專心跟從我，我必把他領進他去過的那地；他的子孫也必得著那地為業。
