In accordance with the Lord’s command to him, Joshua gave to Caleb son of Jephunneh a portion in Judah— Kiriath Arba, that is, Hebron.( Arba was the forefather of Anak.)

Joshua gave a part of Judah’s share of land to Caleb, the son of Jephunneh. That was according to the Lord’ s command to Joshua. The share Caleb received was the city of Hebron. It was also called Kiriath Arba. Anak came from the family line of Arba.

According to the commandment of the Lord to Joshua, he gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the people of Judah, Kiriath-arba, that is, Hebron( Arba was the father of Anak).

The Lord commanded Joshua to assign some of Judah’s territory to Caleb son of Jephunneh. So Caleb was given the town of Kiriath arba( that is, Hebron), which had been named after Anak’s ancestor.

He gave Caleb son of Jephunneh the following portion among the descendants of Judah based on the LORD’s instruction to Joshua: Kiriath-arba( that is, Hebron; Arba was the father of Anak).

Now he gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the sons of Judah, in accordance with the command of the Lord to Joshua, namely, Kiriath arba, Arba being the father of Anak( that is, Hebron).

Now to Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a share among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the Lord to Joshua, namely, Kirjath Arba, which is Hebron( Arba was the father of Anak).

And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of Jehovah to Joshua, even Kiriath- arba, which Arba was the father of Anak( the same is Hebron).

He gave Caleb son of Jephunneh the following portion among the descendants of Judah based on the Lord’s instruction to Joshua: Kiriath-arba( that is, Hebron; Arba was the father of Anak).

And unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh he gave a part among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of the LORD to Joshua,[ even] the city of Arba the father of Anak, which[ city is] Hebron.

Caleb son of Jephunneh was assigned Kiriath Arba( that is Hebron) within the tribe of Judah, according to the LORD’s instructions to Joshua.( Arba was the father of Anak.)

He gave to Caleb the son of Jephunneh a portion among the children of Judah, according to the commandment of Yahweh to Joshua, even Kiriath Arba, named after the father of Anak( also called Hebron).

迦勒在摩西面前使众人镇静，说：“我们立刻上去，占领那地吧！因为我们必能得胜。”

“耶和华听见了你们说话的声音，就恼怒，起誓说：‘这个邪恶世代的人，连一个也不能看见我起誓应许赐给他们列祖的美地；只有耶孚尼的儿子迦勒可以看见；并且我要把他踏过的地赐给他和他的子孙，因为他专心跟从了我耶和华。’

犹大人来到吉甲约书亚那里，基尼洗人耶孚尼的儿子迦勒对约书亚说：“耶和华在加低斯．巴尼亚对神人摩西所说关于你和我的话，你是知道的。耶和华的仆人摩西从加低斯．巴尼亚派我去窥探这地的时候，我正四十岁；我照着我心里所想的向他报告。可是，与我一同上去的众兄弟却使人民的心惊惧，我却完全顺从耶和华我的神。那天摩西起誓说：‘你的脚踏过的地都必归你和你的子孙作产业，直到永远，因为你完全顺从耶和华我的神。’现在你看，自从耶和华对摩西说了这话以后，耶和华照着所应许的，使我活了这四十五年，就是以色列人在旷野行走的时期；现在你看，我今日已经是八十五岁了。今日我还是强壮，像摩西派我去的那天一样；无论是作战，或是出入，那时我的力量怎样，现在我的力量还是怎样。现在求你把耶和华那日所应许的这山地赐给我；因为那天你也曾听见那里有亚衲人，又有宽大坚固的城；也许耶和华与我同在，我就可以把他们赶出去，正如耶和华所应许的。”于是约书亚给迦勒祝福，把希伯仑赐给了耶孚尼的儿子迦勒作产业。因此，希伯仑成了基尼洗人耶孚尼的儿子迦勒的产业，直到今日；因为他完全顺从耶和华以色列的神。希伯仑从前名叫基列．亚巴；亚巴是亚衲人中最伟大的人。全地也就止息了战争。

他们决不得看见我向他们的祖宗起誓应许之地；藐视我的，一个也不能看见那地。但是我的仆人迦勒，因他另有一个心志，专心跟从我，我必把他领进他去过的那地；他的子孙也必得着那地为业。
