亞哈謝從撒瑪利亞王宮房頂屋子的窗戶格子裏掉下來，因而致病；於是他差遣使者，對他們說：『你們去尋問以革倫的神巴力西卜：我患這病活得了活不了。』但是永恆主的使者對提斯比人以利亞說：『你起來、上去迎接撒瑪利亞王的使者，對他們說：「是不是因為以色列中沒有上帝，而你們得去尋問以革倫的神巴力西卜呢？」

他們就把上帝的櫃送到以革倫；上帝的櫃到了以革倫，以革倫人就喊叫起來，說：『他們將以色列上帝的櫃轉運到我們這裏，要害死我們和我們的眾民了。』

使者回答他說：『有一個人迎着我們而上來，對我們說：「去吧，你們回去見那差遣你們的王，對他說：永恆主這樣說：是不是因為以色列中沒有上帝，而你得差遣人去尋問以革倫的神巴力西卜呢？這樣，你所上的床、你必不能從那裏下來；你必定死。」』

以倫、亭拿他、以革倫、伊利提基、基比頓、巴拉、

又有以革倫、和屬以革倫的廂鎮和村莊；

非利士人從以色列所取的城市、從以革倫直到迦特、都歸還了以色列；屬這些城的四境以色列人也都從非利士人手下奪回來。那時以色列人與亞摩利人之間和好無事。
