約書亞又照耶和華的吩咐，在猶大支派所分到的土地之中劃出基列·亞巴，即希伯崙，分給耶孚尼的兒子迦勒。亞巴是亞衲人的祖先。

這樣，米甸人被以色列人征服了，從此一蹶不振。基甸在世之日，以色列境內安享太平四十年。

耶和華啊，願你的敵人都像西西拉一樣滅亡！願愛你的人如升起的太陽，光輝熠熠！」此後，以色列安享太平四十年。

此後，國內安享太平四十年，直到俄陀聶去世。

這樣，以色列人征服了摩押人，國中安享太平八十年。
