As the Lord commanded his servant Moses, so Moses commanded Joshua, and Joshua did it; he left nothing undone of all that the Lord commanded Moses.

The Lord had commanded his servant Moses to do all these things. Moses had passed that command on to Joshua. And Joshua carried it out. He did everything the Lord had commanded Moses.

Just as the Lord had commanded Moses his servant, so Moses commanded Joshua, and so Joshua did. He left nothing undone of all that the Lord had commanded Moses.

你为什么没有听从耶和华的话，而冲向战利品，做耶和华眼中看为恶的事呢？”扫罗对撒母耳说：“我就是听从了耶和华的话，完成了耶和华所派给我的使命。我把亚玛力王亚甲抓来了，也把亚玛力人灭绝净尽了。军兵还从战利品中取了一些牛羊，是当灭之物中那些上好的，要在吉甲献祭给耶和华你的神。”撒母耳说：“耶和华喜悦燔祭和祭物，难道与喜悦人听从耶和华的话等同吗？看哪，听从胜过献祭，听命胜过公绵羊的脂油；

“我后悔立扫罗为王了，因为他转离不跟从我，也不执行我的命令。”撒母耳为此很苦恼，整夜向耶和华哀求。

活捉了亚玛力王亚甲，把他的众民都用刀剑灭绝净尽。但扫罗和军兵顾惜亚甲和上好的牛羊、肥牛犊、羊羔以及一切美好的东西，不愿意把这些灭绝净尽；至于一切轻贱的、没有价值的东西，他们都灭绝净尽。

撒母耳对扫罗说：“耶和华派遣我来膏立你为王，统治他的子民以色列，所以，你现在要听从耶和华的命令。万军之耶和华如此说：‘我要清算亚玛力人对以色列人所做的事，就是当以色列人从埃及上来时，亚玛力人在路上攻击他们。现在你要去攻打亚玛力人，把他们所有的一切都灭绝净尽，不可怜恤他们；无论是男女、幼童、婴儿，还是牛羊、骆驼、驴子，都要杀灭。’”

“你们法利赛人有祸了！因为你们奉献薄荷、芸香和各种蔬菜的十分之一，却废弃了公义和属神的爱。这些事是你们应该做的，至于前者也不可忽略。

“经文士和法利赛人哪，你们这些伪善的人有祸了！因为你们奉献薄荷、莳萝、香芹的十分之一，却放弃了律法上更重要的：就是公义、怜悯、信实。这些才是你们应该做的，至于前者也不可放弃。
