永恆主打發你們離開加低斯巴尼亞、說：「你們上去，取得我所賜給你們的地」；那時你們竟違背了永恆主你們的上帝所吩咐的，不信他，不聽他的聲音。

迦南的境界是從西頓，經過基拉耳，直到迦薩；又經過所多瑪、蛾摩拉、押瑪、洗扁、直到拉沙。

但是主的一個使者告訴腓利說：『你起身向南走，往那從耶路撒冷下迦薩的路上去；』這路是野地。

在基遍、所羅門於夜間夢中，永恆主向他顯現；上帝對他說：『我要給你甚麼、你儘管求。』

我先前從加低斯巴尼亞打發你們的先祖去看那地，他們也這樣行。

你們的界線要轉到亞克拉濱坡的南邊，經過了尋，其終點是加低斯巴尼亞的南邊，又出到哈薩亞達，過到押們；

就很害怕，因為基遍是大城，就像一座王城；它又比艾城大，城裏的人又都是勇士。

那時候，當永恆主將亞摩利人交付以色列人的日子，約書亞就對永恆主說話；他在以色列人眼前說：『日頭啊，在基遍停着哦；月亮啊，在亞雅崙山谷止住哦。』

非利士人所還給永恆主做賠罪禮物的金鼠疫疱、就是以下這些：亞實突有一個，迦薩有一個，亞實基倫有一個，迦特有一個，以革倫有一個；

參孫到了迦薩，在那裏看見一個廟妓女，就進去找她。

亞實基倫看見必懼怕；迦薩必翻騰、非常難過；以革倫必因失所望而蒙羞。王必滅沒於迦薩；亞實基倫必不再有居民。

非利士人把他抓住，剜了他的眼睛，帶他下到迦薩，用銅鍊拘束着他；他就在監牢裏做推磨的人。

來到巴蘭曠野的加低斯、見摩西、亞倫和以色列人全會眾，向他們和全會眾報告，又把那地的果子給他們看。
