“ Come up and help me attack Gibeon,” he said,“ because it has made peace with Joshua and the Israelites.”

於是約書亞與他們建立和好關係，與他們立約，讓他們存活；會眾的領袖也向他們起誓。

耶路撒冷王亞多尼‧洗德聽見約書亞奪了艾城，徹底毀滅，處置艾城和艾城的王像處置耶利哥和耶利哥的王一樣，又聽見基遍的居民與以色列人立了和約，住在他們中間，

萬民哪，任憑你們行惡，終必毀滅；遠方的眾人哪，當側耳而聽！任憑你們束腰，終必毀滅；你們束起腰來，終必毀滅。任憑你們籌算甚麼，終必無效；不管你們講定甚麼，總不成立；因為上帝與我們同在。

出來要迷惑地上四方的列國，就是歌革和瑪各，使他們聚集爭戰。他們的人數多如海沙。他們上來佈滿了全地，圍住聖徒的營與蒙愛的城，就有火從天降下，燒滅了他們。那迷惑他們的魔鬼被扔進硫磺的火湖裏，就是那獸和假先知所在的地方，他們會晝夜受折磨，直到永永遠遠。

過了好些日子，猶太人商議要殺掃羅，但他們的計謀被掃羅知道了。他們晝夜在城門守候着要殺他。他的門徒就在夜間用筐子把他從城牆上縋了下去。掃羅到了耶路撒冷，想與門徒結交，大家卻都怕他，不信他是門徒。只有巴拿巴接待他，領他去見使徒，把他在路上怎麼看見主，主怎麼向他說話，他在大馬士革怎麼奉耶穌的名放膽傳道，都述說出來。

他們本是鬼魔的靈，施行奇事，到普天下眾王那裏去，召集他們在全能者上帝的大日子作戰。

在這些事上，他們見你們不與他們同奔放蕩無度的路就以為怪，毀謗你們。

於是耶穌對門徒說：「若有人要跟從我，就當捨己，背起自己的十字架來跟從我。

眾海島看見就都害怕，地極也都戰兢，他們近前來；各人互相幫助，對弟兄說：「壯膽吧！」木匠鼓勵銀匠，用鎚子打光的鼓勵打砧的，對銲工說：「銲得好！」又用釘子釘穩，免得它倒下。

你們若屬世界，世界會愛屬自己的；只因你們不屬世界，而是我從世界中揀選了你們，所以世界就恨你們。

其實，凡立志在基督耶穌裏敬虔度日的，也都將受迫害。

你們這些淫亂的人哪，豈不知道與世俗為友就是與上帝為敵嗎？所以，凡想要與世俗為友的，就是與上帝為敵了。

人要把你們趕出會堂，而且時候將到，凡殺你們的還以為是在事奉上帝。他們這樣做，是因為沒有認識父，也沒有認識我。

喊着：「以色列人哪，來幫忙！這就是在各處教導眾人糟蹋我們百姓、律法和這地方的人。不但如此，他還帶了希臘人進聖殿，污穢了這聖地。」
