“ Come up and help me attack Gibeon,” he said,“ because it has made peace with Joshua and the Israelites.”

“ Come up to me and help me, and let us strike Gibeon. For it has made peace with Joshua and with the people of Israel.”

“ Come and help me destroy Gibeon,” he urged them,“ for they have made peace with Joshua and the people of Israel.”

And Joshua made peace with them and made a covenant with them, to let them live; and the leaders of the congregation swore an oath to them.

Now it came about when Adoni zedek king of Jerusalem heard that Joshua had captured Ai, and had utterly destroyed it( just as he had done to Jericho and its king, so he had done to Ai and its king), and that the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel and were within their land,

“ Be broken, you peoples, and be shattered; And listen, all remote places of the earth. Get ready, yet be shattered; Get ready, yet be shattered.Devise a plan, but it will fail; State a proposal, but it will not stand, For God is with us.”

and will come out to deceive the nations which are at the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together for the war; the number of them is like the sand of the seashore.And they came up on the broad plain of the earth and surrounded the camp of the saints and the beloved city, and fire came down from heaven and devoured them.And the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are also; and they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.

When many days had elapsed, the Jews plotted together to do away with him,but their plot became known to Saul. They were also closely watching the gates day and night so that they might put him to death;but his disciples took him at night and let him down through an opening in the wall, lowering him in a large basket.When he came to Jerusalem, he tried repeatedly to associate with the disciples; and yet they were all afraid of him, as they did not believe that he was a disciple.But Barnabas took hold of him and brought him to the apostles and described to them how he had seen the Lord on the road, and that He had talked to him, and how he had spoken out boldly in the name of Jesus at Damascus.

for they are spirits of demons, performing signs, which go out to the kings of the entire world, to gather them together for the war of the great day of God, the Almighty.

In all this, they are surprised that you do not run with them in the same excesses of debauchery, and they slander you;

Then Jesus said to His disciples,“ If anyone wants to come after Me, he must deny himself, take up his cross, and follow Me.

The coastlands have seen and are afraid; The ends of the earth tremble; They have approached and have come.Each one helps his neighbor And says to his brother,“ Be strong!”So the craftsman encourages the smelter, And he who smooths metal with the hammer encourages him who beats the anvil, Saying of the soldering,“ It is good”; And he fastens it with nails, So that it will not totter.

If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own; but because you are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, because of this the world hates you.

Indeed, all who want to live in a godly way in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

You adulteresses, do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore whoever wants to be a friend of the world makes himself an enemy of God.

They will ban you from the synagogue, yet an hour is coming for everyone who kills you to think that he is offering a service to God.These things they will do because they have not known the Father nor Me.

crying out,“ Men of Israel, help! This is the man who instructs everyone everywhere against our people and the Law and this place; and besides, he has even brought Greeks into the temple and has defiled this holy place!”
