“ Come up and help me attack Gibeon,” he said,“ because it has made peace with Joshua and the Israelites.”

于是约书亚与他们讲和，与他们立约，容他们活着；会众的首领也向他们起誓。

耶路撒冷王亚多尼洗德听见约书亚夺了艾城，尽行毁灭，怎样待耶利哥和耶利哥的王，也照样待艾城和艾城的王，又听见基遍的居民与以色列人立了和约，住在他们中间，

列国的人民哪，任凭你们喧嚷，终必破坏；远方的众人哪，当侧耳而听！任凭你们束起腰来，终必破坏；你们束起腰来，终必破坏。任凭你们同谋，终归无有；任凭你们言定，终不成立；因为神与我们同在。

出来要迷惑地上四方的列国，就是歌革和玛各，叫他们聚集争战。他们的人数多如海沙。他们上来遍满了全地，围住圣徒的营与蒙爱的城，就有火从天降下，烧灭了他们。那迷惑他们的魔鬼被扔在硫磺的火湖里，就是兽和假先知所在的地方。他们必昼夜受痛苦，直到永永远远。

过了好些日子，犹太人商议要杀扫罗，但他们的计谋被扫罗知道了。他们又昼夜在城门守候，要杀他。他的门徒就在夜间用筐子把他从城墙上缒下去。扫罗到了耶路撒冷，想与门徒结交，他们却都怕他，不信他是门徒。惟有巴拿巴接待他，领去见使徒，把他在路上怎么看见主，主怎么向他说话，他在大马士革怎么奉耶稣的名放胆传道，都述说出来。

他们本是鬼魔的灵，施行奇事，出去到普天下众王那里，叫他们在神全能者的大日聚集争战。

他们在这些事上，见你们不与他们同奔那放荡无度的路，就以为怪，毁谤你们。

于是耶稣对门徒说：“若有人要跟从我，就当舍己，背起他的十字架来跟从我。

海岛看见就都害怕；地极也都战兢，就近前来。他们各人帮助邻舍，各人对弟兄说：“壮胆吧！”木匠勉励银匠，用锤打光的勉励打砧的，论焊工说：“焊得好”；又用钉子钉稳，免得偶像动摇。

你们若属世界，世界必爱属自己的；只因你们不属世界，乃是我从世界中拣选了你们，所以世界就恨你们。

不但如此，凡立志在基督耶稣里敬虔度日的也都要受逼迫。

你们这些淫乱的人哪，岂不知与世俗为友就是与神为敌吗？所以凡想要与世俗为友的，就是与神为敌了。

人要把你们赶出会堂，并且时候将到，凡杀你们的就以为是侍奉神。他们这样行，是因未曾认识父，也未曾认识我。

喊叫说：“以色列人来帮助，这就是在各处教训众人糟践我们百姓和律法，并这地方的。他又带着希腊人进殿，污秽了这圣地。”（
