If you were of the world, the world would love you as its own. However, because you are not of the world, but I have chosen you out of it, the world hates you.

In fact, all who want to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.

You adulterous people! Don’t you know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? So whoever wants to be the friend of the world becomes the enemy of God.

They will ban you from the synagogues. In fact, a time is coming when anyone who kills you will think he is offering service to God.They will do these things because they haven’t known the Father or me.

shouting,“ Fellow Israelites, help! This is the man who teaches everyone everywhere against our people, our law, and this place. What’s more, he also brought Greeks into the temple and has defiled this holy place.”
