“ Come up and help me attack Gibeon,” he said,“ because it has made peace with Joshua and the Israelites.”

“ Come and help me destroy Gibeon,” he urged them,“ for they have made peace with Joshua and the people of Israel.”

“ Come up and help me. We will attack Gibeon, because they have made peace with Joshua and the Israelites.”

And Joshua made peace with them, and made a covenant with them, to let them live: and the princes of the congregation sware unto them.

Now it came to pass, when Adoni- zedek king of Jerusalem heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly destroyed it( as he had done to Jericho and her king, so he had done to Ai and her king), and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them;

Make an uproar, O ye peoples, and be broken in pieces; and give ear, all ye of far countries: gird yourselves, and be broken in pieces; gird yourselves, and be broken in pieces.Take counsel together, and it shall be brought to nought; speak the word, and it shall not stand: for God is with us.

and shall come forth to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of the earth, Gog and Magog, to gather them together to the war: the number of whom is as the sand of the sea.And they went up over the breadth of the earth, and compassed the camp of the saints about, and the beloved city: and fire came down out of heaven, and devoured them.And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where are also the beast and the false prophet; and they shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

And when many days were fulfilled, the Jews took counsel together to kill him:but their plot became known to Saul. And they watched the gates also day and night that they might kill him:but his disciples took him by night, and let him down through the wall, lowering him in a basket.And when he was come to Jerusalem, he assayed to join himself to the disciples: and they were all afraid of him, not believing that he was a disciple.But Barnabas took him, and brought him to the apostles, and declared unto them how he had seen the Lord in the way, and that he had spoken to him, and how at Damascus he had preached boldly in the name of Jesus.

for they are spirits of demons, working signs; which go forth unto the kings of the whole world, to gather them together unto the war of the great day of God, the Almighty.

wherein they think it strange that ye run not with them into the same excess of riot, speaking evil of you:

Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man would come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

The isles have seen, and fear; the ends of the earth tremble; they draw near, and come.They help every one his neighbor; and every one saith to his brother, Be of good courage.So the carpenter encourageth the goldsmith, and he that smootheth with the hammer him that smiteth the anvil, saying of the soldering, It is good; and he fasteneth it with nails, that it should not be moved.

If ye were of the world, the world would love its own: but because ye are not of the world, but I chose you out of the world, therefore the world hateth you.

Yea, and all that would live godly in Christ Jesus shall suffer persecution.

Ye adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? Whosoever therefore would be a friend of the world maketh himself an enemy of God.

They shall put you out of the synagogues: yea, the hour cometh, that whosoever killeth you shall think that he offereth service unto God.And these things will they do, because they have not known the Father, nor me.

crying out, Men of Israel, help: This is the man that teacheth all men everywhere against the people, and the law, and this place; and moreover he brought Greeks also into the temple, and hath defiled this holy place.
