When they had brought these kings to Joshua, he summoned all the men of Israel and said to the army commanders who had come with him,“ Come here and put your feet on the necks of these kings.” So they came forward and placed their feet on their necks.

And it came to pass, when they brought forth those kings unto Joshua, that Joshua called for all the men of Israel, and said unto the chiefs of the men of war that went with him, Come near, put your feet upon the necks of these kings. And they came near, and put their feet upon the necks of them.

The Lord said to my Lord,“ Sit in the place of honor at my right hand until I humble your enemies, making them a footstool under your feet.”

On the day when I act, you will tread upon the wicked as if they were dust under your feet,” says the Lord of Heaven’s Armies.

The God of peace will soon crush Satan under your feet. May the grace of our Lord Jesus be with you.

Your gates will stay open day and night to receive the wealth of many lands. The kings of the world will be led as captives in a victory procession.For the nations that refuse to serve you will be destroyed.

to bind their kings with shackles and their leaders with iron chains,to execute the judgment written against them. This is the glorious privilege of his faithful ones. Praise the Lord!

The Lord stands at your right hand to protect you. He will strike down many kings when his anger erupts.

How blessed you are, O Israel! Who else is like you, a people saved by the Lord? He is your protecting shield and your triumphant sword! Your enemies will cringe before you, and you will stomp on their backs!”

You will trample upon lions and cobras; you will crush fierce lions and serpents under your feet!

To all who are victorious, who obey me to the very end, To them I will give authority over all the nations.They will rule the nations with an iron rod and smash them like clay pots.

Only ask, and I will give you the nations as your inheritance, the whole earth as your possession.You will break them with an iron rod and smash them like clay pots.’”Now then, you kings, act wisely! Be warned, you rulers of the earth!Serve the Lord with reverent fear, and rejoice with trembling.Submit to God’s royal son, or he will become angry, and you will be destroyed in the midst of all your activities— for his anger flares up in an instant. But what joy for all who take refuge in him!

Turning to Jether, his oldest son, he said,“ Kill them!” But Jether did not draw his sword, for he was only a boy and was afraid.

the Lord pours contempt on their princes, causing them to wander in trackless wastelands.

He humbles the proud and brings down the arrogant city. He brings it down to the dust.The poor and oppressed trample it underfoot, and the needy walk all over it.

You placed my foot on their necks. I have destroyed all who hated me.
