对他们说：“我知道耶和华已经把这地赐给你们了，并且我们也都惧怕你们。这地所有的居民在你们面前都融化了。因为我们听见你们出埃及的时候，耶和华怎样在你们前面使红海的水干了，并且你们怎样处置约旦河东的两个亚摩利王，西宏和噩，把他们完全消灭。我们一听见就胆战心惊，人人因你们的缘故勇气全失。耶和华—你们的上帝是天上地下的上帝。现在我既然恩待你们，求你们指着耶和华向我起誓，你们也要恩待我的父家。请你们给我一个确实的凭据，要救活我的父母、兄弟、姊妹，和所有属他们的，拯救我们的性命脱离死亡。”

恶人所怕的，必临到他；义人的心愿，必蒙应允。

地上的万民见你归在耶和华的名下，就必惧怕你。

大卫对亚吉说：“我若蒙你看得起，求你在郊外的城镇中赐我一个地方，让我住在那里。仆人何必与王同住京城呢？”

约押攻打亚扪人的拉巴，攻占了京城。

惟有战战兢兢等候审判和那将吞灭众敌人的烈火了。

看哪，诸王会合，一同经过。他们见了这城就惊奇丧胆，急忙逃跑。战兢在那里抓住他们，他们好像临产的妇人一样阵痛。

你们遭难，我就发笑；惊恐临到你们，惊恐如狂风来临，灾难好像暴风来到，急难痛苦临到你们身上，我必嗤笑。

落在永生上帝的手里真是可怕呀！
