各邦各族听见这些事就发抖，非利士人也痛苦不堪，以东的族长惶恐，摩押的英雄颤栗，迦南的居民都胆战心惊。惊骇恐惧笼罩着他们。耶和华啊，你臂膀的大能吓得他们僵立如石，直到你的子民都安然走过，直到你买赎的子民都安然走过。

又说：“耶和华确实将那整片土地交给我们了，那里的居民听到我们的消息，都吓得胆战心惊。”

地上的君王、显贵、将领、富豪、有势力的、一切奴隶和自由人都躲藏在山洞里和岩穴间。他们哀求群山和岩石，说：“倒下来遮盖我们，将我们藏起来吧！我们不敢面对宝座上的那位和羔羊的烈怒啊！因为祂们发烈怒的大日子到了，谁能站得住呢？”

“我知道耶和华已经把这地方赐给你们，我们十分害怕。这里所有的居民都吓得胆战心惊。因为你们离开埃及过红海的时候，耶和华怎样使红海在你们面前成为干地，你们怎样对付约旦河东的两个亚摩利王西宏和噩，怎样把他们彻底消灭，我们都听说了。我们听了这些事，感到心惊胆战、勇气尽失。你们的上帝耶和华是天地万物的上帝。我既然恩待了你们，现在请你们凭耶和华向我起誓，你们也照样恩待我家，并且给我一个可靠的凭据，保证让我的父母、兄弟、姐妹和他们所有的亲人免于一死。”

恶人所怕的必临到他，义人的心愿必得实现。

天下万民将看出你们是耶和华的子民，并惧怕你们。

大卫对亚吉说：“如果你开恩，就让我到郊野的一个城邑去住吧，何必让仆人与王一同住在都城呢？”

那时，约押正攻打亚扪人的都城拉巴。

只有可怕的审判和烧灭敌对者的烈火等候我们。

世上的君王一同聚集，前来攻城。他们看见这城后，大惊失色，慌忙逃跑。他们被恐惧笼罩，痛苦如分娩的妇人。

因此，你们遭遇灾难时，我必发笑；惊恐临到你们时，我必嗤笑——那时，恐惧如风暴袭击你们，灾难如旋风临到你们，忧愁和苦难吞没你们。

落在永活上帝的手中是可怕的！
