我追趕我的仇敵，並要追上他們；不滅絕他們，我絕不返回。我擊碎他們，使他們不能起來；他們都仆倒在我的腳下。你以能力裝備我作戰，又使起來敵對我的人屈服在我之下。你使我的仇敵在我面前轉身而逃，我把那些恨我的人除盡。他們呼救，卻沒有人拯救；他們向耶和華呼救，他也不回應。

所以耶和華必在一日之內，從以色列中剪除頭和尾，剪除棕枝和蘆葦——長老和尊貴人就是頭，指教虛謊之事的先知就是尾。

如果他撤到城裡，以色列全軍就拿繩子圍繞那城，把城拖到溪谷裡去，使原處連一粒石子也找不到。」

大衛對亞比篩說：「現在比基利的兒子示巴對我們的危害比押沙龍更大。你帶著你主人的臣僕們追趕他，免得他找到堅固的城，從我們眼前逃脫了。」
