於是日停月止、待民向敵復仇、是事載於雅煞珥書、日停天中不速入、約一終日、

So the sun stood still, and the moon stopped, till the nation avenged itself on its enemies, as it is written in the Book of Jashar. The sun stopped in the middle of the sky and delayed going down about a full day.

看哪，我要使亞哈斯日晷上隨太陽前進的影子，往後退十度。」於是，在日晷上照下來的日影果然往後退了十度。

因你的箭射出光芒，你的槍閃出光耀，日月都停在原處。

並吩咐人把這首「弓歌」教導猶大人，看哪，它寫在《雅煞珥書》上：

在牠們面前，地動天搖，日月昏暗，星宿無光。

所以《耶和華的戰記》中提到：「蘇法的哇哈伯，亞嫩河谷，

「你要為以色列人向米甸人報仇，然後歸到你祖先那裏。」

日月昏暗，星宿無光。

那時，月亮要蒙羞，太陽要慚愧，因為萬軍之耶和華必在錫安山，在耶路撒冷作王，在他眾長老面前彰顯榮耀。

太陽月亮啊，要讚美他！放光的星宿啊，都要讚美他！

那城內不用日月光照，因為有上帝的榮耀光照，又有羔羊為城的燈。

參孫求告耶和華說：「主耶和華啊，求你眷念我。上帝啊，就這一次，求你賜給我力量，使我向非利士人報那挖我雙眼的仇。」

它們的聲浪傳遍天下，它們的言語傳到地極。上帝在其中為太陽安設帳幕，

「以色列有領袖率領，百姓甘心犧牲自己，你們當稱頌耶和華！

稱謝那造成大光的，因他的慈愛永遠長存。他造太陽管白晝，因他的慈愛永遠長存。他造月亮星宿管黑夜，因他的慈愛永遠長存。

白晝屬你，黑夜也屬你；亮光和太陽是你預備的。地的一切疆界是你立的，夏天和冬天是你定的。

在這日以前，這日以後，耶和華聽人的聲音，沒有像這日的，這是因為耶和華為以色列作戰。

他們在以色列人面前逃跑。正在伯‧和崙下坡的時候，耶和華從天上降下大冰雹在他們身上，直降到亞西加，打死他們。被冰雹打死的，比以色列人用刀殺死的還多。

這諭旨的抄本以敕令的方式在各省頒佈，通知各族，使猶太人預備等候那日，好在仇敵身上報仇。

太陽要變為黑暗，月亮要變為血，這都在耶和華大而可畏的日子未到以前。

「那些日子的災難一過去，太陽要變黑，月亮也不放光，眾星要從天上墜落，天上的萬象都要震動。

第四位天使把碗傾倒在太陽上，使太陽可用火烤人。人被炎熱所烤，就褻瀆那有權掌管這些災難的上帝的名，他們沒有悔改，也沒有把榮耀歸給上帝。

這樣，你們就可以作天父的兒女了。因為他叫太陽照好人，也照壞人；降雨給義人，也給不義的人。

大聲喊着說：「神聖真實的主宰啊，你不審判住在地上的人，為我們所流的血伸冤，要到幾時呢？」

上帝的選民晝夜呼籲他，他豈會延遲不給他們伸冤嗎？

太陽要變為黑暗，月亮要變為血，這都在主大而光榮的日子未到以前。

羔羊揭開第六個印的時候，我看見地大震動，太陽變黑像粗麻布，整個月亮變紅像血，

第四位天使吹號，太陽的三分之一、月亮的三分之一、星辰的三分之一都被擊打，以致日月星的三分之一變黑了，白晝的三分之一沒有光，黑夜也是這樣。
