The Lord threw them into confusion before Israel, so Joshua and the Israelites defeated them completely at Gibeon. Israel pursued them along the road going up to Beth Horon and cut them down all the way to Azekah and Makkedah.

The Lord threw them into a panic as Israel marched toward them. Then Joshua and the Israelites won a complete victory over them at Gibeon. The Israelites chased them along the road that goes up to Beth Horon. They struck them down all the way to Azekah and Makkedah.

耶和華把他們交在以色列人手裡，以色列人就擊殺他們，追趕他們直到西頓大城、米斯利弗．瑪音，以及在東邊的米斯巴谷；以色列人擊殺他們，沒有留下一個。

一個是瑪基大王，一個是伯特利王，

他在他們面前把外族人趕出去，用繩子量地，分給他們作為產業，又使以色列眾支派的人居住在自己的帳棚裡。

耶和華你的神必把他們交在你面前，使他們大起擾亂，直到他們全被消滅。

那時，巴比倫王的軍隊正在攻打耶路撒冷和猶大剩下的城鎮，就是拉吉和亞西加，因為在猶大的各城中，只剩下這兩座堅固的城了。

於是耶和華在亞撒和猶大人面前，使古實人大敗，古實人就逃跑。

他們從以色列人面前逃跑，正在下伯．和崙斜坡的時候，耶和華從天上降大冰雹在他們身上，一直到亞西加，打死他們；被冰雹打死的，比以色列人用刀殺死的還多。

在那天，約書亞佔領了瑪基大，用刀擊殺了那城的人和那城的王，把城中所有的人完全毀滅，不容一人逃脫；他對待瑪基大王就像對待耶利哥王一樣。

一隊往伯．和崙去，一隊往洗波音谷對面的境界向曠野去。

撒母耳正在獻上燔祭的時候，非利士人前來要與以色列人爭戰。當天，耶和華發出極大的雷聲，攻擊非利士人，使他們潰亂，他們就在以色列人面前被擊敗。於是以色列人從米斯巴出去，追趕非利士人，擊殺他們，直到伯．甲的下邊。撒母耳搬來了一塊石頭，把它豎立在米斯巴和善之間，給這塊石頭起名叫以便以謝，說：“直到現在，耶和華都幫助我們。”

因為他們取得那地，不是靠自己的刀劍；他們得勝，也不是靠自己的膀臂；而是靠你的右手、你的膀臂和你臉上的光，因為你喜悅他們。

基低羅、伯．大袞、拿瑪、瑪基大，共十六座城，還有屬於這些城的村莊。

又有基伯先和基伯先的郊野，伯．和崙和伯．和崙的郊野，共四座城。
