你若谨遵耶和华借摩西吩咐以色列的律例和典章，就必亨通。你要刚强勇敢，不可惊慌害怕。

所以，你们要谨遵你们上帝耶和华的吩咐，不可偏离左右。

你要常常诵读这律法书，昼夜不断地思想，以便谨遵律法书上的一切指示。这样，你必亨通、顺利。

耶和华怎样吩咐祂的仆人摩西，摩西也怎样吩咐约书亚，约书亚都一一照办，没有遗漏任何耶和华吩咐摩西的事。

你要遵从你的上帝耶和华的话，遵行祂的道，照摩西的律法遵守上帝的律例、诫命、典章和法度。这样，你无论做什么、去哪里都必亨通，

“你们要谨遵我的一切吩咐，不可增添，也不可删减。

我在公义的道上奔走，在公平的路上前行。

耶和华的仆人摩西死了以后，耶和华对摩西的助手——嫩的儿子约书亚说：

所以，你们要谨遵这约上的话，以便你们可以凡事顺利。

不可偏右偏左，要远离恶事。

摩西把约书亚叫来，当着全体以色列人的面对他说：“你要刚强勇敢！因为你要带领百姓进入耶和华起誓赐给他们祖先的土地，把土地分给他们。

然后照耶和华的吩咐按手在他的头上，任命他做首领。
