Whoever rebels against your word and does not obey it, whatever you may command them, will be put to death. Only be strong and courageous!”

你當剛強壯膽！因為你必使這百姓承受那地為業，就是我向他們列祖起誓應許賜給他們的地。只要剛強，大大壯膽，謹守遵行我僕人摩西所吩咐你的一切律法，不可偏離左右，使你無論往哪裏去，都可以順利。

外邦為甚麼爭鬧？萬民為甚麼謀算虛妄的事？世上的君王一齊起來，臣宰一同商議，要敵擋耶和華並他的受膏者，說：我們要掙開他們的捆綁，脫去他們的繩索。那坐在天上的必發笑；主必嗤笑他們。那時，他要在怒中責備他們，在烈怒中驚嚇他們，說：我已經立我的君在錫安－我的聖山上了。

你起來，這是你當辦的事，我們必幫助你，你當奮勉而行。」

你們總要謹慎，不可棄絕那向你們說話的。因為，那些棄絕在地上警戒他們的尚且不能逃罪，何況我們違背那從天上警戒我們的呢？

我豈沒有吩咐你嗎？你當剛強壯膽！不要懼怕，也不要驚惶；因為你無論往哪裏去，耶和華－你的神必與你同在。」

人干犯摩西的律法，憑兩三個見證人，尚且不得憐恤而死，何況人踐踏神的兒子，將那使他成聖之約的血當作平常，又褻慢施恩的聖靈，你們想，他要受的刑罰該怎樣加重呢！

至於我那些仇敵，不要我作他們王的，把他們拉來，在我面前殺了吧！』」

我還有末了的話：你們要靠着主，倚賴他的大能大力作剛強的人。

若有人擅敢不聽從那侍立在耶和華－你神面前的祭司，或不聽從審判官，那人就必治死；這樣，便將那惡從以色列中除掉。

你們務要警醒，在真道上站立得穩，要作大丈夫，要剛強。

在上有權柄的，人人當順服他，因為沒有權柄不是出於神的。凡掌權的都是神所命的。所以，抗拒掌權的就是抗拒神的命；抗拒的必自取刑罰。作官的原不是叫行善的懼怕，乃是叫作惡的懼怕。你願意不懼怕掌權的嗎？你只要行善，就可得他的稱讚；因為他是神的用人，是與你有益的。你若作惡，卻當懼怕，因為他不是空空地佩劍；他是神的用人，是伸冤的，刑罰那作惡的。所以，你們必須順服，不但是因為刑罰，也是因為良心。

百姓對撒母耳說：「那說『掃羅豈能管理我們』的是誰呢？可以將他交出來，我們好殺死他。」
