Now after the death of Moses the servant of Yahweh, Yahweh spoke to Joshua the son of Nun, Moses’ servant, saying,

Now Joshua the son of Nun was filled with the spirit of wisdom, because Moses had laid his hands on him; and the sons of Israel listened to him and did as the Lord had commanded Moses.

So Moses the servant of the Lord died there in the land of Moab, in accordance with the word of the Lord.

So Moses got up along with Joshua his servant, and Moses went up to the mountain of God.

Joshua the son of Nun, who stands before you, shall himself enter there; encourage him, for he will give it to Israel as an inheritance.

These are the names of the men whom Moses sent to spy out the land; but Moses called Hoshea the son of Nun, Joshua.

It is the Lord your God who is going to cross ahead of you; He Himself will destroy these nations before you, and you shall dispossess them. Joshua is the one who is going to cross ahead of you, just as the Lord has spoken.

Our fathers in turn received it, and they also brought it in with Joshua upon dispossessing the nations that God drove out from our fathers, until the time of David.

Moses the servant of the Lord and the sons of Israel defeated them; and Moses the servant of the Lord gave it to the Reubenites, the Gadites, and the half tribe of Manasseh as a possession.

You shall also anoint Jehu the son of Nimshi king over Israel; and you shall anoint Elisha the son of Shaphat of Abel meholah as prophet in your place.

Then He commissioned Joshua the son of Nun, and said,“ Be strong and courageous, for you will bring the sons of Israel into the land which I swore to them, and I will be with you.”

Then Joshua the son of Nun, the personal servant of Moses from his youth, responded and said,“ My lord Moses, restrain them!”

It is not this way for My servant Moses; He is faithful in all My household;

But he went in and stood before his master. And Elisha said to him,“ Where have you been, Gehazi?” And he said,“ Your servant went nowhere.”Then he said to him,“ Did my heart not go with you, when the man turned from his chariot to meet you? Is it a time to accept money and to accept clothes, olive groves, vineyards, sheep, oxen, and male and female slaves?Therefore, the leprosy of Naaman shall cling to you and to your descendants forever.” So he went out from his presence afflicted with leprosy, as white as snow.

But she came to the man of God at the hill and took hold of his feet. And Gehazi came up to push her away, but the man of God said,“ Leave her alone, for her soul is troubled within her; and the Lord has concealed it from me and has not informed me.”Then she said,“ Did I ask for a son from my lord? Did I not say,‘ Do not give me false hope’?”Then he said to Gehazi,“ Get ready and take my staff in your hand, and go; if you meet anyone, do not greet him, and if anyone greets you, do not reply to him. And lay my staff on the boy’s face.”

But Jehoshaphat said,“ Is there no prophet of the Lord here, that we may inquire of the Lord by him?” And one of the king of Israel’s servants answered and said,“ Elisha the son of Shaphat is here, who used to pour water on the hands of Elijah.”

So Moses said to Joshua,“ Choose men for us and go out, fight against Amalek. Tomorrow I will station myself on the top of the hill with the staff of God in my hand.”Joshua did just as Moses told him, and fought against Amalek; and Moses, Aaron, and Hur went up to the top of the hill.So it came about, when Moses held his hand up, that Israel prevailed; but when he let his hand down, Amalek prevailed.And Moses’ hands were heavy. So they took a stone and put it under him, and he sat on it; and Aaron and Hur supported his hands, one on one side and one on the other. So his hands were steady until the sun set.And Joshua defeated Amalek and his people with the edge of the sword.

Now this is the blessing with which Moses the man of God blessed the sons of Israel before his death.
