Then God said to Jonah,“ Is it right for you to be angry because the plant died?”“ Yes,” Jonah retorted,“ even angry enough to die!”

神对约拿说：“你因这棵蓖麻发怒合乎理吗？”他说：“我发怒以至于死，都合乎理！”

上帝对约拿说：“你因这棵蓖麻这样发怒，对吗？”他说：“我发怒以至于死，都是对的！”

神对约拿说：“你因这棵蓖麻这样发怒，对吗？”他说：“我发怒以至于死，都是对的！”

上帝对约拿说：“你为这棵蓖麻大发脾气合理吗？”约拿回答说：“我就是气死了也合理。”

神问约拿：“你因这棵蓖麻这样发怒，对不对呢？”约拿说：“我发怒以至于死都是对的。”

神对约拿说：“你因这棵蓖麻就这样恼火，难道有理吗？”约拿说：“我恼火得要死，当然有理！”

神對約拿說：「你因這棵蓖麻發怒合乎理嗎？」他說：「我發怒以至於死，都合乎理！」

上帝對約拿說：「你因這棵蓖麻這樣發怒，對嗎？」他說：「我發怒以至於死，都是對的！」

神對約拿說：「你因這棵蓖麻這樣發怒，對嗎？」他說：「我發怒以至於死，都是對的！」

上帝對約拿說：「你為這棵蓖麻大發脾氣合理嗎？」約拿回答說：「我就是氣死了也合理。」

神問約拿：“你因這棵蓖麻這樣發怒，對不對呢？”約拿說：“我發怒以至於死都是對的。”

上帝對約拿說：『你因這棵蓖麻樹來發怒對不對啊？』他說：『我發怒到死都是對的。』

神對約拿說：「你因這棵蓖麻就這樣惱火，難道有理嗎？」約拿說：「我惱火得要死，當然有理！」

上帝謂之曰、爾以蓖蔴而怒、宜乎、對曰、我怒至死、亦宜也、

上帝謂約拿曰、爾因蓖蔴、怒何烈與。對曰、吾誠怒甚、至於求死。

天主問約拿曰、爾因此基加恩怒豈宜乎、曰、我怒至於求死、亦宜也、我怒至於求死亦宜也或作我誠怒甚至於求死

But God said to Jonah,“ Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?”“ It is,” he said.“ And I’m so angry I wish I were dead.”

But God spoke to Jonah. God said,“ Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?”“ It is,” Jonah said.“ In fact, I’m so angry I wish I were dead.”

But God said to Jonah,“ Do you do well to be angry for the plant?” And he said,“ Yes, I do well to be angry, angry enough to die.”

Then God asked Jonah,“ Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?”“ Yes, it’s right!” he replied.“ I’m angry enough to die!”

But God said to Jonah,“ Do you have a good reason to be angry about the plant?” And he said,“ I have good reason to be angry, even to the point of death!”

Then God said to Jonah,“ Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?” And he said,“ It is right for me to be angry, even to death!”

And God said to Jonah, Doest thou well to be angry for the gourd? And he said, I do well to be angry, even unto death.

Then God asked Jonah,“ Is it right for you to be angry about the plant?”“ Yes,” he replied.“ It is right. I’m angry enough to die!”

And God said to Jonah, Doest thou well to be angry for the gourd? And he said, I do well to be angry,[ even] unto death.

God said to Jonah,“ Are you really so very angry about the little plant?” And he said,“ I am as angry as I could possibly be!”

God said to Jonah,“ Is it right for you to be angry about the vine?” He said,“ I am right to be angry, even to death.”

“ I am nothing— how could I ever find the answers? I will cover my mouth with my hand.I have said too much already. I have nothing more to say.”

She tormented him with her nagging day after day until he was sick to death of it.

You may tear out your hair in anger, but will that destroy the earth? Will it make the rocks tremble?

For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.

In those days people will seek death but will not find it. They will long to die, but death will flee from them!

He told them,“ My soul is crushed with grief to the point of death. Stay here and keep watch with me.”

Surely resentment destroys the fool, and jealousy kills the simple.

but he did not accept Cain and his gift. This made Cain very angry, and he looked dejected.“ Why are you so angry?” the Lord asked Cain.“ Why do you look so dejected?You will be accepted if you do what is right. But if you refuse to do what is right, then watch out! Sin is crouching at the door, eager to control you. But you must subdue it and be its master.”One day Cain suggested to his brother,“ Let’s go out into the fields.” And while they were in the field, Cain attacked his brother, Abel, and killed him.Afterward the Lord asked Cain,“ Where is your brother? Where is Abel?”“ I don’t know,” Cain responded.“ Am I my brother’s guardian?”But the Lord said,“ What have you done? Listen! Your brother’s blood cries out to me from the ground!Now you are cursed and banished from the ground, which has swallowed your brother’s blood.No longer will the ground yield good crops for you, no matter how hard you work! From now on you will be a homeless wanderer on the earth.”Cain replied to the Lord,“ My punishment is too great for me to bear!You have banished me from the land and from your presence; you have made me a homeless wanderer. Anyone who finds me will kill me!”
