And should I not have concern for the great city of Nineveh, in which there are more than a hundred and twenty thousand people who cannot tell their right hand from their left— and also many animals?”

And shouldn’t I show concern for the great city of Nineveh? It has more than 120,000 people. They can’t tell right from wrong. Nineveh also has a lot of animals.”

And should not I pity Nineveh, that great city, in which there are more than 120,000 persons who do not know their right hand from their left, and also much cattle?”

But Nineveh has more than 120,000 people living in spiritual darkness, not to mention all the animals. Shouldn’t I feel sorry for such a great city?”

So may I not care about the great city of Nineveh, which has more than a hundred twenty thousand people who cannot distinguish between their right and their left, as well as many animals?”

Should I not also have compassion on Nineveh, the great city in which there are more than 120,000 people, who do not know the difference between their right hand and their left, as well as many animals?”

and should not I have regard for Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much cattle?

Should I not care about the great city of Nineveh, which has more than 120,000 people who cannot distinguish between their right and their left, as well as many animals?”

And should not I spare Nineveh, that great city, wherein are more than sixscore thousand persons that cannot discern between their right hand and their left hand; and[ also] much cattle?

Should I not be even more concerned about Nineveh, this enormous city? There are more than one hundred twenty thousand people in it who do not know right from wrong, as well as many animals!”

Shouldn’t I be concerned for Nineveh, that great city, in which are more than one hundred twenty thousand persons who can’t discern between their right hand and their left hand; and also much livestock?”

“ Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and cry out against it; for their wickedness has come up before Me.”

should you not also have had compassion on your fellow servant, just as I had pity on you?’

‘ Moreover your little ones and your children, who you say will be victims, who today have no knowledge of good and evil, they shall go in there; to them I will give it, and they shall possess it.

Your righteousness is like the great mountains; Your judgments are a great deep; O Lord, You preserve man and beast.

“ But he was angry and would not go in. Therefore his father came out and pleaded with him.So he answered and said to his father,‘ Lo, these many years I have been serving you; I never transgressed your commandment at any time; and yet you never gave me a young goat, that I might make merry with my friends.But as soon as this son of yours came, who has devoured your livelihood with harlots, you killed the fatted calf for him.’“ And he said to him,‘ Son, you are always with me, and all that I have is yours.It was right that we should make merry and be glad, for your brother was dead and is alive again, and was lost and is found.’”

Then God saw their works, that they turned from their evil way; and God relented from the disaster that He had said He would bring upon them, and He did not do it.But it displeased Jonah exceedingly, and he became angry.

“ Arise, go to Nineveh, that great city, and preach to it the message that I tell you.”So Jonah arose and went to Nineveh, according to the word of the Lord. Now Nineveh was an exceedingly great city, a three-day journey in extent.

These all wait for You, That You may give them their food in due season.What You give them they gather in; You open Your hand, they are filled with good.

He causes the grass to grow for the cattle, And vegetation for the service of man, That he may bring forth food from the earth,

The eyes of all look expectantly to You, And You give them their food in due season.You open Your hand And satisfy the desire of every living thing.

The Lord is gracious and full of compassion, Slow to anger and great in mercy.The Lord is good to all, And His tender mercies are over all His works.

“ Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord,“ Though your sins are like scarlet, They shall be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They shall be as wool.
