王與諸侯出諭、遍尼尼微邑曰、人與六畜牛羊、俱勿食糧、飲水、

王與大臣出諭、布告尼尼微邑曰、人與牲畜牛羊、勿食、勿飼、亦勿飲水、

This is the proclamation he issued in Nineveh:“ By the decree of the king and his nobles: Do not let people or animals, herds or flocks, taste anything; do not let them eat or drink.

Here is the message he sent out to the people of Nineveh.“ I and my nobles give this order. Don’t let people or animals taste anything. That includes your herds and flocks. People and animals must not eat or drink anything.

And he issued a proclamation and published through Nineveh,“ By the decree of the king and his nobles: Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything. Let them not feed or drink water,

Then the king and his nobles sent this decree throughout the city:“ No one, not even the animals from your herds and flocks, may eat or drink anything at all.

Then he issued a decree in Nineveh: By order of the king and his nobles: No person or animal, herd or flock, is to taste anything at all. They must not eat or drink water.

And he issued a proclamation, and it said,“ In Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles: No person, animal, herd, or flock is to taste anything. They are not to eat, or drink water.

And he caused it to be proclaimed and published throughout Nineveh by the decree of the king and his nobles, saying, Let neither man nor beast, herd nor flock, taste anything; do not let them eat, or drink water.

於是約沙法害怕起來，定意要尋求耶和華，就在猶大全地宣告禁食。

牲畜發出哀鳴，牛群到處流蕩，因為沒有草場給牠們，羊群也同樣受苦。

“那時，我在亞哈瓦河邊那裡宣告禁食，為要在我們的神面前謙卑下來，為自己和我們的孩子，以及我們所有的財物尋求神指示一條暢通的道路。

尼尼微人信了（“信了”或譯：“信服”）神，就宣告禁食，從大到小，都穿上麻衣。

你們要在錫安吹號角，把禁食的日子分別為聖，召開嚴肅會。你們要召集民眾，使會眾分別為聖；招聚老人，聚集孩童，和在懷中吃奶的嬰孩；讓新郎從新房出來，新婦從內室出來。

因為被造的萬物服在虛空之下，不是自己願意這樣，而是由於使它屈服的那一位；被造的萬物盼望自己得著釋放，脫離敗壞的奴役，得著神兒女榮耀的自由。我們知道被造的萬物直到現在都一同在痛苦呻吟。
